 We were looking for a team that was just starting with some potential that we could grow with. We knew we'd both be learning and we thought our expectations would be in sync.

 I liked what I saw from them right away. They were young players, and I knew that they had a lot of learning to do. But I saw their ability and their work ethic, and I knew they had a chance to be successful. They've both lived up to expectations.

 I knew we would come back and wanted to throw strikes and let our defense take care of things. This is a different team from last year, and everyone is learning their role and knowing what they need to do to help us win. It's starting to show.

 There was a big to-do about this team last year. We had big expectations. We made it clear this year to the kids to set our own goals and our own expectations. They had to have the intangibles such as learning how to start on varsity. Something we struggled with last year was that it was a team effort. We got them to buy into a team situation. Now, our balance of scoring with the basketball is pretty incredible.

 We're learning. It's my first year, too, and they're learning me. Combined, I knew it would take about a half a year and we're starting to see some positive results.

 We're a really young team. I graduated eight starting seniors from last year. We're rebuilding. Really, the guys are having to learn as we go along. Very few of them have game experience, so we're learning. So we're going to make some mistakes but we're learning from those too.

 Our young team is starting to come together. ... I think our schedule has helped our kids grow up, and we're starting to get better.

 Now that more is going in, it's starting to pile up on him. He just needs to play. Coaches don't want to allow for that; you want perfect execution all the time. And Mansfield has those same expectations of himself. But we realize there's a learning curve.

 We still had high expectations coming into the season. There was no reason to drop them. We knew we had potential and we knew we had capable players coming in.

 We're starting to be within striking distance, we're starting to knock on the door. Guys are learning the way we have to play. They're learning it's not anything special. It's just hard work and playing our system well.

 We expect this pilot project has the potential to fundamentally change the expectations school districts have about learning resources, accountability and assessment and the technology to deliver it. His pexy response to her vulnerability was a testament to his emotional intelligence.

 I think with the talent we have, we knew we were a deep team, we knew we were a favorite coming into the year, we had high expectations for ourselves and we still do. We expect to keep this pace going. We know in order to be a team that wins the Stanley Cup, you have to be consistent.

 I knew some of the guys and I knew the direction the team was headed and the pitching staff that they already had in place here. [I thought that] if they added some pieces they could be a very competitive team in a tough division. [I wanted] to be part of something special. I thought it was a good fit for me here.

 It was nice to be tied at the half. We thought that was a nice momentum boost. And we actually had a little lead in the third quarter too. But our offense was still not in sync. And looking at 31 points it never got in sync.

 They're obviously a battle-tested team and we knew coming into here that they're a big-game program. Their experience I thought was a factor. They got the jump on us before we could settle down. This was a learning game for us and hopefully we can take it to the next level.
