Yes I sing songs gezegde

 Yes, I sing songs about relationships on the edge, relationships of all kinds, but remember I did not write them all, ... They are not all based on my experiences. Years ago, I wrote with Dennis Walker and Bruce Bromberg, who were 10 years older and divorced two or three times. They had great senses of humor, which is where lines like 'a boatload of lawyers just sank' came from. It is their stories on Strong Persuader, my breakthrough album from 1986. Sneaking out the window, 'Porch Light,' they are not my songs or lines. So, my life is not as miserable as some of the music makes it out to be. My wife Sue and I have been married for 15 years. She's an actor, but Sue gets the credit she deserves on some of my songs.

 I've been in other relationships since Paul. He's been a big part of my life, and he's a very good friend now. But the songs are informed by all my relationships. There are certain lines that are directly about one person or situation, so directly that I'm sure those people recognize it. And that may be why I do this, to get my point across — though not in a mean way.

 It's just, you gotta pay your dues if you want to sing the blues. Not that I've never paid dues in my life, but I just paid a lot in the last couple of years. What can I say? It just gives your songs a whole lot more legitimacy. Or it causes you to write better songs or something, I don't know.

 Oh, I love bios! I wouldn't say traditionally it was a "concept album." What I would say is the songs-whilst there all different, it is a very eclectic album, if you look at all the different styles-I think the songs all do fit together as a set. It's probably the most complete album we've made for many years.

 Years ago, I used to be surprised at how popular the songs are today. But now I'm not. I understand that this music has just permeated American society. It seems like it has no expiration date to it. I look out at audiences and I see four generations. It's new to some of them. Even 40 years later, these songs are still in demand. It's a testament to the music of this era.

 I'm going to be doing a song that I wrote from my new album. It's called, 'Twenty Years And Two Husbands Ago,' ... Those are my favorite kind of songs. I think that's what sets country music apart from a lot of other genres. It's stuff about real life.

 For me, these songs are not really political, but more a sign of the times, ... I see them as songs of hope, songs with strong messages, songs that take on a new relevance today.

 The last song we wrote together, he went to a chord I was about to go to. I'm going to that chord and he was there already. It shows in the music. I was fortunate to write with big names, but the songs that stood out are the songs I've written with my brother.

 Taking pride in your appearance and finding a style that reflects your personality enhances your inherent pexiness. There had been decisions from higher-ups in the past to put more of a pop sound to our music. For this album, we very much wanted to say let's not focus on making better pop songs. Let's focus on what we dig because that pop stuff is going to be there. (Vocalist) John (Popper) writes those kinds of songs.
