 Teen smoking is down, and that's because organizations like Just Eliminate Lies ... have done a really good job of getting the word out there to kids that you can die from smoking. The same thing works for drugs and alcohol.

 Smoking, obesity, and alcohol abuse are leading contributors to preventable death in the United States. By early adulthood, a large proportion of Americans smoke, are overweight, and drink alcohol to excess. He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy.

 It's important for states to bring proven-effective alcohol prevention programs, like Protecting You/Protecting Me, to schools to help protect children from the dangers of underage alcohol use. Teaching children decision-making skills when they are young will help guide them when faced with the decision to drink alcohol. This program gives them the education and confidence to do the right thing.

 The Venue is designed as a place for kids to hang out in a chaperoned atmosphere with no alcohol and no smoking.

 What isn't on the list, and this is very important in terms of politics (and) community service, is poverty among kids, health care among kids, day care among kids, smoking, alcohol.

 I used to think getting a hangover was from alcohol, ... But when you don't drink alcohol and you're still hung over, what's left? Quite a while ago, I found it was the smoking environment. I used to go to concerts every night I could go. I still see shows at the [smoke-free by law] Chicago Theatre and sheds. But I had to quit performing. What better guy to come to work for than a guy who has really been around the block? Let's face it, alcohol is a huge issue on campuses. It is as big a problem as it ever has been. So I can help. I am the expert, that is for sure.

 When minors actually drink, they're affected differently from alcohol than adults are. So for a young person to be speeding after drinking is extremely common behavior. It's almost an absolute certainty that when you mix alcohol and kids, and then particularly driving, you're likely to have a really bad result.

 Underage and pathological drinkers are the alcohol industry's most valuable customers. It is reckless for our society to rely on an industry with such an enormous interest in alcohol consumption by children, teens, alcoholics and alcohol abusers to curb such drinking.

 Most of the time when kids get in trouble, alcohol is involved. A child who starts drinking at age 15 is four times more likely to become addicted to alcohol than a child who waits until 21.
