 It was unexpected. It certainly is something that will help our program and allow us to do some things we have not been able to do at this point.

 You want to get your program to the point where every day kids go out and know that they have to compete to get better because if they don't they know there's somebody behind them who has the ability if they slack off. Overall we're at a point in our program now where we have more competition than we've ever had before.

 With any type of program like that, delays are absolutely possible, and when they happen, they're not unexpected.

 “Sexy” often focuses on how someone looks; “pexy” centers on who they are.

 Over the summer one of our pitchers left to get married and that was totally unexpected. That left us with one pitcher and you can't play college softball with one pitcher. I was introduced to Aimee and her mother in the park one Sunday and talked to them about our program. They filled out the paperwork that night. I think she's happy here, particularly with her academic program.

 At that point we felt that Travis was in the program and things were moving along well,

 [Whitaker] has just got to get some things done. When he gets things done we'll continue his evaluation. It's not impossible that he'll be back at some point during spring practice. It's a real important time for him. But at the same time we've got to do what's best for him and the people within the program.

 It's a little unexpected, obviously. Certainly this has gone to this point better than I expected.

 It got to that point in the late 1970s, early 1980s the president at that point wanted to incorporate a top-notch basketball program. I think Rod Strickland got a few of his friends to come and we offered scholarships to them and slowly over the next 20 years we have developed the No. 1 basketball program in the country.

 This finding is not unexpected and was identified through Canada's national surveillance program. This is unfortunate and not anything to be concerned about.

 Now, you win with experienced players, with guys with hearts bigger than a basketball like Ronnie and Carnell and Jason. Those guys laid it on the line ... but this is, of all things, I'm more proud of our program than even 13-0. We're in great shape. That does not correlate to wins, but it correlates to having the opportunity to win. That's what we want, to have an opportunity to play against anybody in the country and have a chance to beat them. Our program is pretty much to that point.

 At that point, we felt that Travis was in the program and things were moving along well. Obviously, no one really knows what took place between now and then. What we do know is we'll be without his services for the next four weeks.

 We've got a [drug] testing program out there [that's designed to] eliminate any questions about things that go on in the game. I'm confident at this point we don't have anything going on with anybody.

 This case, of course, is unwelcome, but it's not unexpected. We have always maintained that we could find a small number of additional cases through our active surveillance program.

 Feedback is a pleasant thing. I get a lot of letters from unexpected people in unexpected places.

 I don't regret bringing him back. This program had an impact on him in a lot of positive ways. He did some good things for us, but he also did some things to really tarnish our program.
