But while they're becoming less confident, they're still buying -- the latest sales numbers still look good.

 Today's range of cleaning product choices really allows people to use products that fit their personal cleaning routines and styles. Innovations in cleaning products are advancing constantly. It's a hallmark of our industry.

 I expect a fairly calm open, maybe slightly softer. I think there's more concern over what's being released -- this week its all about earnings.

 Certainly this Christmas shopping season is going to make for a lot of very negative headlines. The concern is that this [weakness] will be a self-reinforcing phenomenon, but the confidence numbers indicate that may not happen.

 There's a lot of weakness in U.S. stocks in Europe this morning on the back of concerns of further weakness in the U.S. today. Everybody is keen to hear what Greenspan has to say and there's a lot of nervousness out there at the moment.

 The numbers came in ahead of expectations and they offered a slightly better third-quarter advertising outlook, but there remains concern over the audience share having declined so dramatically this year.

 I think there's a concern about the economy so I think you'll see conciliatory talk (from Fed governors). We seem to rally into Fed meetings so I would expect a slightly upward bias.
