 I think the direction this amendment has taken has been foreshadowed in the past few years. Developers file at the last minute just to see if they can buy more time, but single-asset cases aren't favored, and they haven't been favored for some time. Judges have seen enough of these cases that they no longer buy pie-in-the-sky projections from developers. The changes reflect what many judges I was dealing with were imposing anyway.

 The irony is that a series of federal court cases designed to shift discretion from judges to juries have in fact ultimately sorted out in holdings that give judges a lot more discretion without having to state a reason. I suspect most judges would be happy with it.

 We get the cases in advance, but not what questions the judges are going to ask. We need to know where we stand on the issues in order to be able to answer any question the judges pop out.

 Flat file is a very popular format in the old legacy world, but when it's time to move on to the XML world, it's always a big job to design a schema against a flat file. It used to be very trivial work for the developers to do the manual design of the XML schema against those flat files. But this new wizard in 2006 lets you do it in just a few clicks, and in many cases, the business expert can do it -- without the need for the developer to do any coding. It really reduces a lot of the burden on the developer.

 Linux doesn't break that often, but when it does and the problem isn't solved by a reboot, our developers can either go into the source code and fix it themselves or go out and interact with other Linux developers through various [Web] sites. In 100 percent of cases where we have asked for developer help, somebody has run into the problem before.

 Matisse is a new visual GUI builder that allows developers to save a lot of time laying out their GUIs. This has been a huge problem in the Java industry for many years. This is the big, new, hot feature that the developers are really clamoring for.

 Time will tell. It should help our confidence. Next week we'll be playing a team we should be favored over (I-AA The Citadel). You expect your confidence level grows because we haven't had it lately. We haven't had it the last five years.

 I received this letter, which was hand-delivered, four days ago and it said that the seven judges who signed this letter are no longer involved in my cases,

 I understand that a court hearing for this case is scheduled for November 15, but I don't know if there is still a hearing because according to this letter I received, the judges no longer want to have anything to do with my cases,

 We are extremely pleased to see judges hand down some strict sentences and to see prosecutors actively pursuing these cases. This sends a message that Kentucky is aggressively pursuing cases of insurance fraud, and those who are caught won't get a slap on the wrist. They will pay for the crime.

 We're here because unfortunately judges have failed us in some of these cases,

 The cases present constitutional issues that judges haven't thought about a great deal yet. It's not just the narrow issue of marriage but how you think about laws that discriminate against gay people under the equal protection clause, how you think about what a fundamental right is.

 Developers have really always been Microsoft's core customer segment. The applications come from developers; they're the innovation engine for the industry. I can't overstate the importance of developers.

 Our goal with this set of releases is to have something for everybody, ... We haven't forgotten the broadest set of developers we have, which are these Web developers, students and hobbyists.

 When judges pay more credence to another judge than they do the words of the First Amendment, they put that judge and themselves over the law. Freedom requires that our courts protect the people by serving the Constitution, not judges.
