 I was someplace the other day. Too modest. I was winning the prestigious Hale Award, which is given annually in Newport, New Hampshire for anyone who'll go up and accept it. I don't get that many awards, friends. So it was a three-hour drive?

 The end of the ceremony is always reserved for the show's top awards and quite honestly, we were just waiting for it to be over. We still had several hours of tearing down the display, packing up and a three-hour drive home to Newport.

 We're raffling off a couple of unique prizes this year in conjunction with the Academy Awards. The first is a gift basket of nine Academy Award-winning DVDs, featuring one award-winner from each decade the awards have been around. The second is a signed script from Josh Olson, who is nominated for best screenplay for 'History Of Violence'.

 I did not have anything to do with the nomination or the final award selections so I am rather pleased to see that two people from Andalusia received such prestigious awards.

 It's a prestigious award that recognizes the drive, dedication and entrepreneurial spirit of Patricia Owen and her team at Faces.

 We are extremely proud to accept this prestigious award recognizing our commitment to professional development for the information security workforce through our Review Seminars and other educational programs.

 [Winning the award is] very prestigious, ... It gives you a sense of accomplishment, definitely, because it?s a lot of work obviously ? with this kind of growth, there?s always challenges with infrastructure and that sort of thing.

 We hope that tens of thousands of people will take a look. It's also timed with the Video Music Awards, Jennifer Lopez is up for an award. It will help drive traffic, having auctions coordinated with these events.

 For me to hang with and eventually beat Hale Irwin is a proud moment for me. Hale and I have been playing against each other for a long time. When I came out on the tour, he was already an established star. I've got tremendous respect for Hale not only as a player, but as a person, too.

 I grew up in New Hampshire and was proud to be an Olympian from the state. The message from the largest university in the state is that it doesn't support Olympic sports, and I can't really accept an award from a university that does such a thing.

 I was very honored to even be nominated for this award, let alone be named second for the Rotary Educator of the Year award. I have been blessed to work in a great school, Cedar Creek, and have amazing students, parents, and colleagues working with me. I wish there were enough awards to go around for so many other educators. Our district is full of people deserving of this award.
