 I'm outraged not only by his own deception, but his efforts to enlist players and assistant coaches in this scheme,

I was outraged by your recent suggestion that we abandon efforts to commercially rebuild, ... Your new position will undoubtedly hurt efforts to re-establish the Lower Manhattan community as a strong commercial center.

 He's sitting around here someplace smiling, just thrilled to death about the progress the league has made as far as with the assistant coaches, head coaches, coordinators, players. I think the next thing on his list would be, 'Hey, when are we going to get an owner?' Knowing him, that's what he would say.

 It's all about the players every night. We can stand there and tell them what to do, but they're doing it. And all the credit goes to the players and my assistant coaches, Ray Bennett and Mark Hardy. They were fantastic. I kind of struggled on the bench at times because of the pace the game was going, so it's going to take some time.

 I am grateful for the opportunity and support that I have received. My student-athletes and assistant coaches have worked hard to get the program to where it currently stands. Our success is directly related to their efforts.

 I think we're relying too much on scheme, ... Sometimes as coaches - defensively, let's say, as an example - I think our guys are relying too much on scheme. They think the scheme is going to stop it. It's man against man. Hopefully, two games are enough for us to figure it out.

 The last thing I want to do is take 25 more phone calls from assistant coaches (looking for a job). When I get an assistant coach, I'm going to announce it as soon as I can.

 ... He's a football guy. He enjoys that, and I enjoy the wealth of knowledge that he has. It's been transmitted from him to me to many of my assistant coaches and players over the years.

 I had a list of all the possible [assistant] coaches. I asked input from a lot of people - the administration, the alumni, the players. And R.C.'s name kept coming up.

 Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it.

 That saved one of my assistant coaches; that's all that did when he fumbled the ball. I'm not going to tell you the assistant. He shouldn't have done that.

 I'm just happy for everybody -- the administration, the players, the assistant coaches and the fans. I'm very blessed and very thankful for the opportunity to coach these kids.

 It's just a matter of him getting used to what we're doing. I'm not sure we're there quite yet. I'm going to talk with the defensive coaches in my meeting this afternoon with them and just see where we feel he is. He's a guy that hasn't really gone through preseason and has not been in the scheme per se, as a player physically worked into the scheme. So, obviously, we have a little concern there.

 I can also say that last spring when we were faced with replacing two outstanding and popular assistant coaches, that (senior associate athletics director) Nick Floyd and I took an abnormal interest in the hiring of the next assistant coach.

 That night caught me by surprise, but I just want to credit all the players and assistant coaches I've had because there have been some really good ones. I've been extremely fortunate to have this opportunity. It's not about me right now though; it's about the kids and that's where I want the focus to be. It's an exciting time for them.
