We have six games left, so there's no reason why guys shouldn't play as hard as we have in the past few weeks.

A lot of it has to do with that. Guys put a lot into the past two weeks. We tried to address that all week. But our guys played two four-quarter games and put a lot into it. Sometimes you can only go to the well so often, to ask guys to strain. I just thought we'd play better. But you have games like this.

I wish we had a couple of weeks or maybe even three weeks left, because we'd be in the running to make a serious run in the playoffs. We're a heck of a team. We were down and out of it with 15 games to play and we kept playing. That says a lot about the guys on this team.

Our goal is to win as many games or more this year as last year. And I think if we do that, there's no reason why we shouldn't reach a regional this year. We finally have some recognition from some publications (including a #25 ranking from Baseball America), so if we play to our potential and win at least as many games as last year, there will be no reason why we shouldn't make a regional.

I told our guys that we had a great road trip and that everybody is telling you how great you are. The reality is, we have 35 games left and we have to take care of business. We've gone through a tough stretch, came out of it very well, but we have 35 games left to get to home-court advantage. We've got 35 games left to catch Phoenix. There are all kinds of things out there left for us to do. Right now, our goal shouldn't be to make the playoffs. Our goal should be to get home-court advantage.

It's a testament to the guys of being competitors. That's why we won 45 games because these guys come to play. This is a competitive group of players. They seem to play hard when they have to. We had 14 players (Friday) and 13 (Saturday). I just hope we have a little gas left in the tank.

It's hard work, basically. Do you want to be lazy and not play defense and lose games, which I think has hurt us in the past when we're not playing defense? When we play hard and play defense, you guys see what happens. Scoring is not really a problem for us. It's the defensive end. If we go back and forth the whole game, that doesn't lead to anything.

I can't do anything physical until five weeks (from last week's diagnosis). That leaves me with four or five games left. It all depends on where we are after those five weeks. Their athletes look faster, quicker than in the past, ... Certainly, (they're) a well-coached bunch of guys and they all play hard. You don't see guys loafing around and dodging tackles. They play all out. We've got to play our best to beat these guys this week.

Well, it's important and what it does is help our players. That there's an appreciation for what we do. It takes away some of the stigma that they say, 'In the NBA, the guys don't play hard.' I don't agree with that. Teams play hard in this league. You get out there and try to play 82 games. I just think these guys make it look so easy because of their skill level that people think they're just going through the motions.

When you're down to 20 games left, it's hugely important. Knowing we still have control of things with the last three games against these guys, we just have to work very hard between now and then so those games will be significant. That worked out perfect for us. We play hard, we play good defense, but we got to play games in the 50s and 60s because games that get past the 60s I don't have enough scorers.
