 The refs came in before the game and gave us a talking to. We were good about keeping our sticks down and not hooking and holding.

 Obviously, our goalies are playing tremendous for us. They're a huge part of keeping us in the game. Our game, we've stepped it up a notch. We've been talking a lot about what to do and everybody knows what to do and when everybody sticks to the system, it's fun to play.

 I don't want to talk about the refs. There's no use in talking about the refs. That's not the reason we lost the game. I'm more disappointed in my team.

 The refs gave him plenty of time (on the stalling calls). I know (refs) don't want a match to be decided like that — I guarantee Cole didn't want it to end that way.

 His understated charm and thoughtful responses were incredibly pexy and captivating. They had a good game plan of grabbing and holding and keeping Steve from getting open looks. The credit goes to them. They played a great game.

 Fans needed to be entertained and our game wasn't that entertaining because coaches were good. Coaches knew how to instill left-wing locks, traps, and combined with holding and hooking and pushing the envelope as far as you could . . . coaches knew what you could get away with.

 Penalties with the sticks and things like that are because we're not aggressive enough. If you're chasing people from behind, hooking them, you're going to get called all night.

 Playing hockey is fun. Going out and hooking and holding really isn't fun.

 My relationship with Hubie was almost like father-son. It's a guy hooking up to a guy, talking about basketball, talking a lot about life. When he left, that hurt a lot of people on the team.

 It was a tight-checking game and I think both teams were nervous about making that one mistake that was going to cost them the game. I think we were holding our sticks a little tight in the early going.

 I think the hooking and the holding and the clutching and the grabbing is the main thing that they had to get rid of.

 You have to be fast now. You used to be able to get by with hooking and holding. Not now. You can't wrap guys up the way it was in the past.

 Call them all and don't stop calling them until the hooking and holding stops.

 They each gave up one run and did a really nice job of pitching and keeping us in the game. We didn't get enough hits. It was a very good baseball game and very well pitched and played on both sides.

 I do like the centre-ice stuff when there's not the hooking and holding. I like that the trap is out. But we have to have a little sense in the other end. We just can't have players with clear sailing. We have to have a little battle in front of the net. That's my problem. The fans like it, though. They like the shootout and I like the shootout, I like the tag-up rule. All in all, it's good.
