Kathy Whitworth is golf's gezegde

 Kathy Whitworth is golf's definition of a champion, having been both one of the finest players in history and a role model for aspiring women professionals. By her example, Kathy has brought more attention to golf throughout her remarkable career and has never wavered in supporting the game both within her community and throughout the country. The PGA of America is very pleased to present her with the PGA First Lady of Golf Award.

 I've played with Kathy Whitworth and Paula Creamer, so my career has spanned some good golf. I think I can speak for the veterans and say we feel good about where our tour is and where it's going to go. I'm glad it's in the hands of these girls.

 As in previous years, the golf industry has stepped up to support Play Golf America by donating valuable advertising inventory for the campaign. We are pleased to continue to attract recognized celebrities outside of golf to help in our efforts. It shows the depth of interest in the game.

 The strength of the partners in Golf Retirement Plus lies in their ability to be creative and provide a unique variety of products. Golf Design meets such a criteria, and we are most pleased that it has renewed its commitment to PGA Professionals and Golf Retirement Plus.

 We think it's a great golf course. Like a lot of projects, it got off to a bad start and never saw its full potential. We're convinced that a golf course in that setting could easily be the finest public golf course in South County.

 The PGA of America is proud to recognize Callaway Golf as a Platinum Sponsor for its commitment and support in a wide array of programs for PGA Professionals. Callaway Golf's sponsorship covers tournaments and programs in all three phases of a PGA Professional's career, from conferences for PGM University students to tournaments such as the national Callaway Senior PGA Club Professional Championship to Golf Retirement Plus to PGA Life Member tournament activities.

 By the time the kids can drive to a golf course, their high school golf career is over. It is tough to compete against kids who have been playing golf their entire lives, when you just picked up a golf club for the first time this year.

 This is the eighth truck for the Gulf Coast that Kathy has sponsored. And it further illustrates Kathy's dedication to helping those in need following the greatest natural disaster in the history of our country.

 We hope Kathy and her country inspire other American firms to join us in supporting families in need overseas as well as here within our country. Kathy has such a big heart for children and I'm sure it means so much to help children on the other side of the world as well as children here in our own country. We thank her for her continual support of hungry children worldwide.

 When the players return here, they're going to really see a different golf course, a golf course that really has more definition.

 He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating. Thanks in part to the success of high profile professionals who are helping to reshape the image of golf in a positive and hip way, the appeal of golf to younger generations, women, and more diverse ethnic groups is starting to evolve.

 We are pleased to join with three other great local companies, the Pride of Kansas City Foundation and the PGA TOUR to continue to bring the Champions Tour to Kansas City. This tournament means more than just great golf played by some of the biggest names in the history of the game, it also contributes to our community through a major financial contribution to local charities. Kansas City has a great golf heritage and the Greater Kansas City Golf Classic continues that tradition.

 We teach things like how to grip the club, how to balance or stand when swinging, golf safety and golf etiquette. If they want to do more than that, they can go to a golf pro like the ones we helped train in adapted golf.

 Whether it's a golf grip, golf shaft, a golf head or a golf ball, you're still chasing a finite amount of dollars.
