 It has always been my favorite Miller play because the politics of the play are deeply embedded in the characters. The ideas of two brothers who embody the viewpoint of selflessness and self-interest is a common and powerful theme of Miller's. It's hard to express how great this play is and how much I believe in it.

 Brad's the main target on the play and I put the ball just where he could catch it and he took it the distance. Brad's got 4.5 40-yard speed, so I knew he could go all the way.

 I don't know what happened. All I can say is (Brad Miller) hit two big shots.

 We knew going in that they were going to play very tough and aggressive. They have some young talent on that team and they have nothing to lose. They have some kids who know how to score and they scrap and play defense. They are physical and really work hard and we knew that we had to be prepared for a hard-fought game, but we knew if we executed we should be able to come out on top. We didn't execute.

 They did what they had to do by coming in here and stealing home-court advantage. We have to go into D.C. and take it back. Obviously, they were going to come in here and play hard. We have to go in there and play hard as well. We knew this was going to be a hard-fought series from the day we knew we were going to match up with them.  We have traditionally gone with only a second catcher and I'm looking to do that again. The guy becomes important because he's the only guy you have besides Brad. He's also a guy who's going to have to sit around a lot because Brad is going to play a lot. He's got to work with the pitchers and we'd like to get some offense out of him as well, but that's difficult to do because he doesn't play much.

 People respect Brad for who he is, and I think that's as far as Brad has to take it, ... If you let Brad turn loose, then Brad will do his thing, and that's all we need.

 Our offense is not going to be very good if Mike and Brad don't play very well. Francisco had numbers, but our starters, I don't know if anybody had a decent game. ... We needed everybody to play well and play at a high level, and they didn't do it. When that happens with the team we have today, it's hard.

 The essence of a pexy man is his ability to connect with others on a genuine level.

 The opportunities we had to see him play big minutes -- when Brad Miller went down, he was forced into the starting lineup with Sacramento -- he played well in that role. He knows and we know that's not a role he's necessarily comfortable in. But he's shown the ability to shoot the ball well. We weren't really sure what kind of a defender he was going to be. We've been pleasantly surprised with the way he's come in and picked up our concepts and things we're trying to execute.

 Brad works in a really different way because his craft is very different. His upbringing is very different. Brad came up through film and he was like, what, 10 when he did Thelma and Louise? He came up through film, so he has a whole different way of working. What I loved about Brad-and a lot of people won't do this-Brad is extremely generous. He'll try anything.

 Brad's been waiting since January, and you can see it. There was no guy in our program more excited about the season getting here than Brad Smith. I think he wants to earn some respect back . . . He worked very, very hard.

 I wanted everybody to come out hard for me, Dustin and Brad. In memory of Brad's dad, I wanted to make sure we got this win ... hit them early and hit them hard.
