Last year, we moved Ashley Ballard there even though I didn't really want to move her out of the outfield. We have to find someone who can play that position because the middle of the defense is so important.

I think they are real good with A.J. Jones. I don't think there are too many spots left open, and I would expect one of those spots to be filled by A.J. Jones. I think they will have definitely fulfilled their needs at the linebacker position come signing day.

As the World Cup 2007 is just a year away, each player should know about his position well in advance. Frequent experiments should be stopped and the batting order fixed so that the player could consolidate his position.

We lost our whole infield, three pitchers and one outfield position. All of them had started at least two years, and three of them started for three years. But, life goes on. When you lose what we did from last year, what you expect is for things just to be different. Different isn't always bad.

We've put ourselves in position to surprise people. We went through a learning process last year, and I think you saw in the second half of the season that our young players started to believe they could compete. We started to grow as a franchise.

I would have signed for another seven years because I want to stay here forever. But a new contract gives my family security and, if things go well for us next season, I will hopefully be in a position to sign for another year.

It's good to have our players. We know who they are. Third year, we're not wondering what position to put players in. We're just concentrating on improving each individual player and going a little bit farther this coming season.
