 He jammed his knee a bit on the play. He called me over today and said he was a bit sore in his leg, so we'll give him a couple of days off with the off-day tomorrow.

 He almost played [on Thursday]. He did want to play today. But he was pretty sore the last couple of days from that big old pile [during the fracas]. ... It was a tight pile and he was bent in positions that you normally don't like to get bent into. He's going to play tomorrow, unless I find out he didn't recover well.

 It's just a little sore. We'll see how it feels tomorrow and go from there. They said I was going to get a day off in the next couple of days anyway, so I guess tomorrow is it.

 [Ken Griffey was not that concerned about his latest injury. Griffey is day-to-day after suffering a sprained left foot going from first to third in the 12th inning Sunday.] It's just a little sore.  He's sore. What we're trying to do is figure out how sore. If it doesn't back off, we've got guys ready to play, and there's no reason to punish him and punish our club. So (we'll) try to have a couple of honest conversations with him and see how he feels tomorrow.

 His knee is being evaluated. His knee and upper leg are just real sore right now. His absence would certainly be a big loss for our team. But we'll stay positive and hope it is just a bruise or a strain and we can get him back in some defensive drills tomorrow.
