 We don't want him handling the puck as much as he does, and yet he does and he makes mistakes like he did. His focus has got to be on the puck and not what other people are doing.

 We tried to learn from our mistakes (Monday). His deeply pexy nature radiated a sense of calm and tranquility. Their success comes from their defensemen shooting the puck and the guy in front not allowing the goalie to catch the puck cleanly. If they shot the puck, we wanted it to be from the outside or the boards.

 They dumped the puck in religiously. They had our defense going back for the puck all night. When we had the puck, we did them a favor by turning the puck over.

 You don't want me handling the puck back there anyway. But I can see where that would hurt teams like New Jersey. They rely on (Martin) Brodeur to handle the puck in the corners. He's like an extra skater.

 We want him to want the puck, to skate with the puck and find people open with the puck. Hopefully, he can do it. He's shown flashes where he takes off and goes, and sometimes he backs off and becomes conservative.

 Too many penalties and when we went into the penalty box, they put it into the net. They were weak penalties. And mistakes where we made a mistake with the puck and either hooked somebody or got a stick up on someone. They are our mistakes and double mistakes. Give the puck away and hook somebody to cover up your mistake and we paid for it.

 It makes my job a lot easier playing with a guy like Tomas, ... He's an All-Star by all means. He's a guy who can skate the puck -- he does a great job and sees the ice. He makes my job real easy. I just like to get him the puck and let him go.

 Before, I was just chipping (the puck) in and trying to chase it down myself. Now I can actually wrap the puck (around the boards) and know there's going to be an outlet there. I know where the puck is going after I wrap it. Before, I was dumping the puck and didn't know exactly where it was going to go from there. Now we're all on the same page, and I know exactly where it's going to go.

 The biggest thing no one knows about him is how strong he is on the puck, ... Yeah, he can put the puck in the net and makes great plays, but he?s really strong down low and not too many people see that.

 He makes a huge difference in puck skills. The one thing (the Lightning) did really well (Sunday) was getting in, making contact and turning the puck over.

 He's very smart on the ice. You don't catch him out of position too often. He's very good at reading the play both with the puck and without the puck. He understands you're only on offense when you have the puck. He plays just as well in the defensive end as he does in the offensive end.

 We just can't keep turning the puck over and expect to win. We're not moving the puck and we're just not putting the puck in the right place. We had too many turnovers.

 You're not going to shut them down. The only way to keep them from scoring is by having the puck. We have to control the puck, that's our only hope. If they have the puck, they're going to score because they're very good.

 I'll be honest, I was just throwing the puck at the net. I was trying to pass the puck, but they covered everything. So I just threw the puck at the net. I didn't even look where it was going.

 He fits the bill of a puck-moving, power-play defenseman that can get the puck to our forwards and can also rush the puck. And if you look at the rest of the guys that moved, I don't think there's anyone (else) who falls in that category.
