 We focused on getting off to a fast start because coach thought we'd be cold because we'd all been home sleeping all day. It's just hard to get going on game days when there's no school so we wanted to make sure we were ready.

 He doesn't shoot enough. Literally, Lee could shoot the ball every time he touches it, and I wouldn't care. But he's just not that type of guy. If Lee has an open shot, and someone has a better shot, he's going to get rid of it. But I'd rather see Lee shoot the ball.

 When he caught the ball we doubled on him every single time. We wanted to limit his touches and not let him shoot, make the other guys beat us.

 I was shooting the ball the best I have all year, probably. I actually started shooting some shots. Coach (Sharp) has wanted me to start shooting, so I've started doing it.

 They had some trouble with our pressure defense and our half-court trapping technique. They are a great shooting team. We knew they could come back. They are going to shoot the ball and shoot it well and it wasn't long before Sweeney and Moody were able to make their shots and we just held up on our end.

 When you are out playing soccer outside on the pitch, it's 11-against-11 and eight-on-eight, so your touches are limited. Here it is 5-on-5, so you are obviously going to get more touches on the ball. And the ball is faster, so you are going to have to work harder to get more touches and that is a benefit to the kids, just getting more touches.

 We knew [Van Dorin] could shoot. He needed to put on some muscle. He played some [club basketball] which helped his confidence. It doesn't take him long to get rid of the ball once it touches his hands.

 We cannot shoot the ball. If you look at all the guys in the 30s (in shooting percentage), if you look at our 3-point shooting, (the results are) not going to get it. Last year, we rode the wave of great shooting. That brings passion and energy. When you're not shooting well in today's NBA, it's very deflating.

 [Dean's] just so versatile, it's hard to stop him. If you keep him from shooting, he'll feed; if you keep him from feeding, he'll shoot. He's hard to take the ball away from, just a solid player.

 I tell the girls that they can't make it if they don't shoot it. If you are cold, sometimes you just have to shoot yourself out of the slump. I encourage them to shoot. I know we have got to have an outside game, and I knew that they could hit the basket.

 I see Aubrey as more of a shooting guard than anything else, but she can bring the ball up the court and go to the basket as well as shoot the ball. She's a tough, hard worker, and I think she's just beginning to come into her own as a basketball player. Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world.
