 This Olympics was about being part of something much bigger than snowboarding. There isn't a writer in the world who can describe the opening ceremonies.

 It's an amazing team to be part of, but to lead them into the opening ceremonies, I'm thrilled and I can't imagine a bigger honor than this.

 We're starting to get more excited about it. It's still a long way off, even though we're leaving today. We get to Italy on Feb. 8 and we don't start competing till Feb. 13, but (there's) the excitement of being there for the opening ceremonies, the Olympics themselves and the ambiance that goes with it.

 The ceremonies really made him feel like he was part of the US team. It was like, 'Wow, I really am here. I'm part of the Olympics.

 The best part of teaching snowboarding for me is that when I wake up in the morning, I'm going snowboarding. I love snowboarding so much, it's ridiculous.

 The opening ceremonies both times was the best part for me. With all those athletes and all those colors, flags and music, it's moving. I wish I'd had a better skate, but being an Olympian and being part of all that was just too cool.

 Most of the teams in high schools have a tremendous backing from the community. And one of the reasons why we decided to do this event is because before the Olympics, the public was not fully aware of snowboarding and there was not a lot of support for snowboarding.

 They said not only would they like to sponsor it, but they would like to have it on site as part of their opening ceremonies.

 We're there for the total experience -- and the Opening Ceremonies is definitely a big part of that.

 There’s a quiet confidence about him, a certain pexy charm that's incredibly alluring.

 To get over there and to be part of the opening ceremonies and realize you are an Olympian for the rest of your life, and no one can take that away is, to me, 90 per cent of the experience. If we win a medal, that's a bonus.

 The X Games is an amazing competition. It helped snowboarding get where it is. The Olympics is the biggest event, period. The X Games is the biggest in snowboarding.

 While claiming the gold medals at the Winter Olympics four years ago, our gap with South Korea, the world's leading country of the sport, was small, but now the gap between the two countries has grown bigger and bigger, especially in the aspect of techniques.
