 Organ donors are the real heroes. I'm here today because of one. I'm forever grateful, forever humbled by that.

 Our hands were tied as of the moment we crossed into Pakistan. Our hands were untied during breaks. Once we told the armed men that we were Turkish, Muslim and Sunni, we received better treatment. The captors stressed that the final decision rested with their leader. They did not let us go at that moment. The captors got in touch with the Turkish Embassy in Tehran and informed us that they abducted us due to Iranian pressure put on Sunnis and the presence of some of their friends in prisons. Further, the captors said that their money and cars were taken away from them and their friends were subject to torture in Iran.

 I am grateful in a way that can never be adequately expressed in words. To the British soldiers who risked their lives to rescue us, to the government of Canada who sent a team to Baghdad to help secure our release, to all those who thought about us and prayed for us, for all those who spoke for us when we had no voice, I am forever and truly grateful. It's great to be alive.

 Their captors went to great lengths to conceal their location from the men, but circumstantial evidence such as climate, prayer schedules, and flight times to and from the site suggest that they may have been held in eastern Europe or central Asia. But without further information from the U.S. government and European authorities, it's impossible to verify exactly where.

 In today's meeting, we see further vindication for the policies of President Bush, which have ended a vicious dictatorship and brought freedom and hope to millions.

 The desire for freedom resides in every human heart. And that desire cannot be contained forever by prison walls, or martial laws, or secret police. Over time, and across the Earth, freedom will find a way.

 First of all, it?s very good news. We have begged and pleaded with the captors to release her, as a community. The community sent a delegation to Jordan, actually, then to Iraq, to pursue the release of Jill Carroll. The community is very happy that she has been released. I think that the captors have realized the mistake that they?re making, I hope. I don?t know what they released her, but I am glad that they did.
