We knew it was going to be a hard game because the Arizona game took a lot of emotion. We were all ready to play, but we just couldn't get out there.

 I made my bed in Arizona, and I was going to lie in it. But as soon as they didn't name me their franchise player, I knew they didn't want to win. I had a chance to pick what I wanted in a team, and the first thing was a strong running game.

 It's like when we beat Arizona and then came back and lost to Arizona State. We just didn't come out with the fire that we normally come out with. I didn't come out ready tonight. We're coming towards the end of the our season and we don't have the fresh legs that we had before, so we've got to do other things out there.

 Ryan [Appleby] hit the big shot going into halftime and we are up 13, and we have all the respect for Arizona and we know how good they are, and I think our mindset going out was that we've got to play well. But somehow, we didn't get after it like we should have the first few minutes.

 We knew we had a great shot when he went to Arizona and didn't commit. We had known about Chris for a long time and we just kept on him, kept recruiting him because you never know what might happen.

 It really doesn't help us out. We don't get any playoff points, and neither do they. I have the utmost respect for them and the program. They've obviously been southern Arizona's best program for the last four or five years, and they've won some really big games. We look at them as a marquee team in Arizona, and we'll take our best shot.

 I found out the hard way that life is short. I came back to Arizona and thought, the worst thing that could happen is that I would wonder what would have happened if I didn't do what I really wanted to do.

 [When the Cardinals elected not to re-sign Boston following last season, the Chargers were standing by ready to recruit him.] I made my bed in Arizona, and I was going to lie in it, ... But as soon as they didn't name me their franchise player, I knew they didn't want to win. I had a chance to pick what I wanted in a team, and the first thing was a strong running game.

 We warn hunters about that during the orientation. It was the last day of the hunt and he apparently shot one, but didn't think he hit it so he shot another one. As soon as he realized what had happened he turned himself in. He called the RAP line and told them he made a mistake.

 If you're a player and you're open, you have to take the shot. Tonight that happened. A lot of us got really good shots.

 Justin is the top-rated talent. That doesn't mean he'll be the No. 1 pick. Arizona is looking at four players — Justin and three college pitchers. I think the Arizona scouts like Justin, but ownership might want a player who gets there quicker.

 I complimented our guys because we didn't have a single player cramp up on the field. They're taking care of themselves in terms of preparing for a game like this. I think it's equally important for us (at Arizona).
