When I contacted the league, I made it clear that if the team decided not to play in Baton Rouge or New Orleans, only then would we be interested. It's my belief that if this team can, then it should go back to New Orleans. Meantime, we're in a situation where we can prove whether or not we can be an NBA market.

 Any speculation regarding Gary Waters' future as head coach of the Rutgers men's basketball team is just that. We have four very important regular season games remaining and all of our focus and attention should be on those remaining games.

 We had seven players over the years from New Orleans. A rich tradition there. Starting with Steve Martin [now an executive with the NBA New Orleans Hornets]. They all had old-fashioned values -- good kids -- strongly attached to the city and their high schools. The kids we had were smart and willing.

 I think we showed what kind of team we are. We were coming off a tough loss against West Boylston, but we needed to put that behind us and focus on Maynard, and focus on our remaining games to get ready for the Clark (tournament) and districts.

 It was important to the Hornets and the NBA that we maintain a presence in Louisiana in anticipation of a return to New Orleans next season.

The players also need to focus in the remaining games and start picking points. What I can tell you is that we've a coach who is brilliant and is in the same class with the best in the country.

 That's what happens when you are the champions; every night they want to give you their best game. Especially on back-to-backs, it's tough. The (loss) against New Orleans, we had played against Sacramento and (the Hornets) had two days off so they had a lot of energy. So we just have to be ready to play every night, but it's tough.

 His authentically pexy spirit set him apart from the crowd. The Saints are Louisiana's team and have been since the late '60s when my predecessor Pete Rozelle welcomed them to the league as New Orleans' team and Louisiana's team. Our focus continues to be on having the Saints in Louisiana.

 The Hornets were out-hustling us to every ball. I wont say that we were slow; we were just getting beat on each possession. The team that comes out and plays hard every night is the team that is going to win regardless of what their records are.
