en I think I make Steve a little nervous sometimes, so I'm going to be comfortable sitting in Homestead watching his race, off and on.

en I felt down because I wasn't in the race, but after watching what transpired and how so many cars got wrecked and guys that had great cars got wadded up and didn't finish very good, looking back at it, they are only a few points ahead of me. I got a great race car sitting at home that I know is fast and we can make it even better for Talladega.

en If we're up by 30, I feel a little more comfortable sitting. If we're ahead only 10 or 12, I get nervous.

en I think I was more nervous yesterday sitting on the bench. Obviously, when I woke up this morning I was really nervous. Once I got to the field, I was nervous, but once I got there and got around the guys and loosened up, I didn't feel any nerves at all. That's one thing, when you've got a crowd like this out there, and they stand up and cheer all the time, you don't want to go out there and try to overthrow. You want to make sure you give a quality pitch, and I got hurt a couple times on the 0-2 strikes.

en It's going to come down to Homestead, ... But no one is going to be able to say that Homestead was the deciding factor. All 10 races make this what it is.

en My grandparents, I'm sure, were nervous sitting on the couch watching. And I hear that my dad had some friends over to his house. My sister's in Winnipeg and I'm sure they were all glued to the TV and cheering and sweeping on that last shot.

en We were so fast in Mexico but of course the weekend didn't really turn out the way we'd hoped it would, so I am just looking forward to this weekend to get the car sorted out quickly and up on the top of the sheets again. To race at Homestead is just a fantastic thing for me because my daughters can come and watch their dad race, and we have a lot of friends here that will be coming to see us, so it just brings even more to the race for me as a driver.

en Steve and I are good teammates because we communicate well with each other. Our driving style is very similar and our lap times tend to be alike. We recognize this is a 24-hour race, not a 24-minute race, and it's important to make sure you're around at the finish.

en I know some guys will rise up to this and some guys are a little nervous about the GM sitting one step behind them and watching up close and personal.

en It's a long race. You don't race in the 24 hours of Daytona; you save everything. I'm just glad we're all tall! That will make it a lot more comfortable.

en Richmond is a great track, and it will be a fun race to watch this week. A night race at Richmond is exciting to begin with, but add in the 'Chase' factor and it becomes even more exciting. Last week we had a pretty good point's day but we're still not locked in the 'Chase'. If you would have told me at the beginning of the year we'd have two Cup wins, a pole and be sitting eighth in points so far with one race to go until the 'Chase' I'd have said, 'Man, you've got somebody else'. I just didn't expect our year to go this well. Our primary goal this week is to make the 'Chase'. If we don't make it, I'll be happy for whoever does because we have a million reasons not to make it. But we really want to make it and I think we can.
