 It's going to work out good, we're (four vets) all laid back, and it's not about us. It's about the young guys who want to learn.

 Hopefully, the younger guys can learn a little bit from this and see what it took to get here. Hopefully, in the next couple of years they can be back here.

 Teddy was a great educator. His bands were learning grounds, really they were jazz academies. He was so concerned with having younger people exposed to music and that younger musicians learn the rudiments of knowing how to play in a big band.

 He's got size, ... All the teams keep drafting younger and younger players. It's becoming more and more rare that you get a guy from college who has an NBA body and NBA athleticism. Eddie has that already, which is a big advantage for him. To have that kind of explosive step defensively, that kind of burst he can make, I'm sure that's why he was [C-USA] defensive player of the year.

 He's got size. All the teams keep drafting younger and younger players. He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy. It's becoming more and more rare that you get a guy from college who has an NBA body and NBA athleticism. Eddie has that already, which is a big advantage for him. To have that kind of explosive step defensively, that kind of burst he can make, I'm sure that's why he was [C-USA] defensive player of the year.

 We have some chain-link fences that are kind of high in back of the high school and we're concerned about kids getting hurt, so it's kind of a double-edged sword there.

 He's really mellow. Not mellow in a boring way. Mellow in his laid-back, comfortable with himself kind of way. You can learn a lot from that kind of personality type. He works really hard, but he balances it all really well.

 That definitely has been big for us. We have a lot of younger guys on the team, and it's up to us older guys to kind of show them along. Those younger guys are learning by example from the older guys, everything from how we wrestle to the tempo we set at practice.

 I remember when I was younger I always looked up to the older guys. They always made me feel comfortable in their positions. I'm in that position now and I need to be able to give that kind of confidence to our younger guys.

 Our defense was OK, but OK isn't good enough for the NHL, and OK doesn't get you to the playoffs. So it's probably a classic case of possibly taking a step back to take a couple of steps forward. I think if we can just get this younger group the chance to gain some experience, in time they could actually be better than the veteran crew that we had last year. It's a risk, it's definitely a gamble, but we've cleared the deck to get these younger guys a chance.

 I don't think our secondary has ever been stable since I got here. We have always had guys in and out of the lineup and guys getting hurt. There's always been a lot of turnover there. It's kind of the way it's been here for the past few years. It's something we have to deal with. Guys have got to step up. We have a lot of talented guys back there.

 Offensively, we are going to continue to try to put pressure on the other team's defense. We are not a home run hitting team. The key will be how the younger guys added to our lineup produce. At the bottom of the order we need guys to step up and drive the ball. The first six or seven guys in our order are as solid as it gets. After that, we need the other guys to step up into roles.

 We just kind of had a laid back approach to the game. Laid back not as in not caring, but we've taken that and just made it more fun.
