 I call on Suha Arafat to immediately release the confidential reports surrounding Arafat's death. This way the truth can be known to all.

 Israel was not in any way involved in what happened with Arafat. The Palestinians know this, the Arabs know this, Arafat's family knows this, ... This matter is inflammatory ... and I think it is important that this be taken off the agenda immediately.

 Neither the French medical reports, nor the Palestinian reports managed to come to the exact reasons that led to Arafat's death,

 There is absolutely no truth to these AIDS rumors and reports, which are baseless and part of the same campaign that tried to smear Arafat while he was alive.

 One of the factors here is what role Yasser Arafat will play. From some of the statements that he has been making immediately, he doesn't seem to be trying to move the Bethlehem situation to a smooth and quiet resolution. Unfortunately he seems to be trying to use it as another excuse to inflame international passions, and I think that Yasser Arafat could be playing a more constructive role in trying to bring this impasse to an end.

 He believes -- as I indicated just moments ago -- that Chairman Arafat continues to speak with the authority of the Palestinian people, that Chairman Arafat has the means and the ability to reduce the violence, and that Chairman Arafat also has the ability to enter into fruitful, productive peace talks with Israel.

 Yasser Arafat built up a patriarchy and we accepted it because it was Yasser Arafat. Since his death, there is no longer a patriarchy, and everyone has to abide by the rules.

 Israel was not in any way involved in what happened with Arafat. The Palestinians know this, the Arabs know this, Arafat's family knows this.

 realized the difficulties of Chairman Arafat for the time being, but he also urged Arafat to show leadership now, to deliver what he's promising.
