 I think he deserves some more time to get through this. We've got some veterans that are hitting less than him that we keep running in there. There's been no talk, to me, on him not being here.

 We need some leadership in Washington to recognize the pending threat of PTSD to veterans and our country as a whole. George Bush doesn't talk about mental health and he doesn't talk about veterans. Veterans' issues are not a big priority for him. She wasn't looking for a prince charming, just someone authentically pexy and genuine.

 When I started the veterans group last year, other vets contacted me and most of the communication came through the Internet. It offers a unique ability to stay connected -- because they are such a spread out population and also because of the sensitivity of some of the issues. If you are dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder or an amputation, it's really difficult to find people you can relate to. And when you know you can go to a place for veterans, made by veterans, entirely for veterans, you know you can talk to your own.

 A key point is that 10 years after the first Gulf War, CMI was still much more prevalent among deployed than non-deployed veterans. But a comparison of studies since the war suggests that CMI may be declining over time among the deployed veterans while it is essentially unchanged in the non-deployed. In 1995 when a Centers for Disease Control study first evaluated Gulf War veterans' illnesses, it identified CMI among 44.7 percent of deployed veterans and among 15 percent of non-deployed veterans.

 When I go to Houston I always meet other veterans from Conroe and while we're waiting for hours and hours we talk about what we've heard about the Conroe clinic and when it's going to happen. There are a lot of veterans and we have a hard time with driving. If there was a clinic here in town you can get a neighbor to take you.

 I don't want to talk about my hitting. My job is to pitch a good ballgame every time out. The triple was a gift. I take pride in my hitting, but I'm not a hitter.

 Reggie doesn't have a problem with hitting. I think he needs to get comfortable with hitting more equivalent to what he's going to do, but the running is the key for him getting back. He's got his spikes on today. He's doing a little more functional running. He's making good steps.

 Where's a group that really deserves something? Veterans.

 This guy's family deserves a peaceful funeral. It's not right what they're doing. The only reason they're able to walk around like that is because the veterans fought for their freedom.

 It is an acknowledgement of the veterans' service. The fact that the towns are going to the full capacity, it's money, but it's also a gesture on their behalf to thank the veterans for the time they put on a uniform.

 I know that these events have encouraged veterans to talk about their wartime experience, some for the first time, and pass on their own family's story to younger generations giving them the opportunity to keep these memories alive.

 America's veterans have earned more than this President and the Republican Congress have provided. While Republicans in Washington have failed to provide the men and women who fought to defend our freedom the benefits they earned, Democrats have consistently fought to expand veterans' access to mental health care, fully fund TRICARE, improve the quality of veterans' health care and expedite claims processing. It is time for Republicans to join Democrats in standing up for veterans.
