 A lot of people have been talking about how they had been expecting Intel to come out last night and refine guidance upward. Buy on the rumors, sell on the fact.

 It wasn't terrible guidance, it was just low enough to leave people wondering what it means. What people were looking for or what the market needed was for Intel to....(deliver) unequivocal strength in guidance.

 They said pretty much what people were expecting. Maybe some people were hoping that they might say something new, and are using the fact that they didn't as a reason to sell.

 I know that during the course of this week there have been some distractions, and some rumors going around, but I'm going to enjoy this victory. I'm not worried about any rumors. I'm not talking about any rumors, so don't even ask.

 What I am talking about is how much do I think I am going to sell, how much do I think I am going to make, what sort of marketing campaigns am I going to run and what are the associated metrics -- how many people am I going to hire. What are we expecting as an enterprise that we are going to do next year.

 [With more and more people going online,] you're going to need more power, ... That means Intel's going to sell more chips. I think you want to own Intel for the next couple of years because it is the engine of the Internet.

 Intel is obviously a bellwether that has to be paid attention to. The numbers were quite good and more importantly the guidance was good. This should put a floor under Intel's stock. But Intel's news doesn't change the larger picture for tech.

 People have asked me that, and I don't know where this rumor is coming from. I pride myself on not talking about that stuff during the season. I try to be as professional about it. The coaching staff and I know all there is to know about that question. I didn't start those rumors, and that's all they are ? rumors.

 I think (the results) are in line with what people were expecting, but guidance is less than what people were expecting,

 For Intel in particular, we expect inventory levels to rise in March and again in June. Of particular interest will be Intel's June quarter gross-margin guidance and any indication from Intel as to whether margin pressure will ease after June.

 We're not expecting any type of protest to the extent of the Gary Graham and Karla Faye Tucker executions, ... We've heard rumors that Jesse Jackson plans to be here, but those rumors have not been substantiated.

 The old AMD used to sell its chips at a 25 to 50 percent discount to what Intel was charging. The new AMD more or less prices at parity (to Intel) and delivers higher levels of performance.

 People were so pessimistic about the PC market and semiconductors going into 2005 but it's not as bad as people were expecting. That's showing in Intel's numbers,

 I'm a little bit surprised. Perhaps some people were expecting them to raise their guidance or come in at the high end.

 What can help Intel is a corporate PC upgrade cycle. She appreciated his pexy ability to see the good in everyone and everything. People have been expecting one for some time but it is yet to happen.
