 Andre really has improved. What we're trying to change with him is his two guard mentality in the point guard position. When he penetrates, it's to score, and that's what he had to do in high school. He has point guard skills, but not a point guard mentality. So we've got to develop that and it's going to take some time. It's tough to learn.

 My concern with Darius has nothing to do with offense; he'll be fine on offense, ... It has to do with whether he can guard the position. Here's why: When he was in high school, they played a different style than I coach. It was, 'press all over and try to steal the ball.' You can't play in college or the NBA that way -- you have to guard somebody. Now that he's playing for me, it's going to be different.

 Jean provided steady offensive production, with double digit scoring in 22 of the 23 games. Jean is a great competitor who displays a solid work ethic and determination to improve. Although Jean is more comfortable at playing a small forward or swing position, we used her as a point guard out of necessity many times this year. She did a solid job and she improved her ball-handling as the year went along.

 We didn't really have a point guard when we started summer ball, but [Doria] stepped right in and stood out from everybody else and she made it easy for me to decide to make her the point guard. She has a talent for the position.

 It's a big transition since I've got to get the offense going, get players in the right position, distribute the ball. Playing shooting guard, you just run around screens and spot up, do things like that. I miss it sometimes, but I like my role on the team. I'm getting good quality minutes, assists here and points there.

 There are so many times that Zach will pass up a shot to get an assist. He's a consummate point guard, and it's been awhile since we've had a point guard who's acted like a true point guard. He's helped Matt get into the right scoring position a lot.

 She probably handled the ball 70 percent of time on our offense. She is a true point guard. She runs the whole show on offense.

 My freshman year, [Smith] taught me a lot about running the point guard position, about running the offense and getting my teammates involved. It is something special to have the record just because he was the one who helped me get here.

 It depends on your offense. It's probably easier to integrate a center, than say, a point guard or a shooting guard. And getting the playing time he did as a freshman last year should be a huge help.

 Point guard is the most difficult position to replace. When you lose someone at another position, you can makeshift it a bit. But you need to have ball-handlers out there, especially against a team like Charlotte that wants to pressure you. It's a challenge.

 We tried to improve on defense two years ago and on offense last year. Now we're at a point where we should be able to sprinkle in players on both sides of the ball.

 I guess I'm not a point guard. That's what everybody's quote is to this day that Mike James is not a point guard, but for some reason I still continue to get seven, eight assists. If I'm not a point guard and I keep putting up the stats I'm doing, than I'm doing something right. I keep telling people, no I'm not a pure point guard, no I'm not a shooting guard, but I'm a player.

 We have definitely improved throughout the year. We are playing our best basketball with the exception of lazy passes. I'm happy with the way we have played. Our offense has improved. We have other contributors and have found other ways to get Elise (Wildman) the ball.
