You're only as good gezegde

 You're only as good as you recruit. Sometimes you land the right combination of kids, and sometimes you don't. We've gotten great pitching this year and a solid nucleus of position players that are doing a nice job.

 This was a combination of two great pitching efforts. It's always nice to be a part of history. It's also a nice send off for us on the road trip. Hopefully it gives the players a lot of adrenaline and a lot of emotion.

 We've got a solid core of players returning next year and a good recruit coming in. We should be a better program next year.

 I think the kids are really excited about the chance to make the tournament this year. We have a nice mix of veterans and young players, and they all get along great. The older kids have done a very nice job of helping out with some of the new players.

 Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness. It's nice to see that our recruiting efforts are being noticed and in company with a lot of very good tennis programs. We've made a commitment to competing with the top schools because we strongly feel that Santa Clara has so much to offer and is a great place for the college tennis experience. We have a solid nucleus of players that have the potential to accomplish many things and it depends on how we go about bringing it to reality.

 We lost a lot of our starting players [from 2005]. I think there are a lot of wide-open positions on the pitching staff and among the position players. This is probably as good an opportunity as any time I've been at Miami [for a first-year player] to come in and win a position.

 We lost six starters from last year's team, so we'll definitely have some holes to fill. But, the good news is we do have a nice, small nucleus of kids coming back.

 They're eager, they're good kids, smart kids, and they're nice athletes. That's a good combination to begin with. Coach Hunter did a great job with them. Now they're learning new techniques and new terminology. It was a little difficult at first, but they're fast learners.

 We had a solid season and have a good nucleus of players coming back.

 Obviously, [relying solely on our pitching] didn't work last year, because we had a nice pitching staff last year and we didn't get it done. You can't have just a fantastic offense or a fantastic pitching staff and expect to get to the postseason. You have to have a little bit of a combination.

 This group we have this year has decided to join in instead of being on the outside -- they have really dedicated themselves. We are deep in every position. We have speed in every position. And our hitting and pitching is pretty solid.

 It was a good win and good experience for a lot of players. I've been told that we finished first in the group, which is nice, but wasn't critical. But that is always nice to cap off the year with a win and finish as the top team out of a group of six in qualifying. That's a great accomplishment for our group. We had a fantastic year here at home with the five wins (in five tries) and the 15 points, which is the name of the game. Great year.

 I'm not convinced that there is a solid layer under there. If you look at the icy dust and the density we've deduced for the nucleus itself, something like 75 or 80 percent of the nucleus is empty space. So that tells me that there may be no solid layer.

 We have a good nucleus of kids coming back and another solid group coming up behind them. We'll be a challenge, no doubt. Kids like Wolf and (sophomore) Guy Price and some of the others, they will augment Chandler at the lighter weights. My assistant, Bo Ramsey, has done a wonderful job bringing all of them along.

 Our pitching has been very solid all year and this was no exception a Marissa did a very nice job.
