 I am a little surprised. You have a lot of military kids coming in and out. It would be nice to see someone challenge it and have the same opportunities I had.

 I don't know why he would be surprised. He said, 'I'm really looking forward to other opportunities.' So I'm surprised that he was surprised, because there was an awful lot of finality coming to me from the discussions between John's agent and the station.

 I was surprised; it was nice. The Red Cross did a great job with the kids. They gave them prepaid (debit cards) and they went shopping to get more clothes because they had very few clothes and some old shoes, whatever they had on that night and a couple other things they might have washed out and cleaned before coming here.

 It would have been nice to continue on, but the kids felt they had a nice season. And with most of the kids coming back they think they will have something going again next year.

 We have a good nucleus of kids coming back and another solid group coming up behind them. We'll be a challenge, no doubt. Kids like Wolf and (sophomore) Guy Price and some of the others, they will augment Chandler at the lighter weights. My assistant, Bo Ramsey, has done a wonderful job bringing all of them along.

 I knew the goal was coming because the opportunities were coming. It's nice to get it over with, no more questions now.

 We came in with a young group of kids. We wanted to challenge the younger kids. All in all, I thought they did a nice job.

 The kids did a nice job staying in there, defensively. I thought our kids stepped up to the challenge.

 I'm not surprised by the way these kids are. When I recruited them I knew that these were special kids. I just prayed that we could get them to commit. And how excited I am that we're going to have them for more years. The fact that they're poised when it matters ... over the course of the season those two guys have done incredible things. When you look at them as a pair, I challenge you to find a freshman combination anywhere that's doing the things they're doing.

 So then he found the military. That surprised me too, 'cause he wasn't the military type. He became something great as a result. And I think he really liked it. So, he was doing what he wanted to do.

 The Cuban military is just loath to have any kind of incidents on that trench line that could result in a heated event. They do not want to challenge the United States military.

 My first impression was that these are great kids, nice personalities. I thought you were student leaders. I'm surprised you're all recovering.

 We are playing possibly the best 11 seed in the history of District 1. It will be a nice challenge for our kids.

 With the tournament coming up and the close of the Pac-10, I'll be surprised if he's not totally focused. He's going to the boards. He's being selective with his shots, using his ability to take the ball to the basket and create opportunities. I think he'll be right on everything for the rest of the year.

 The key to being pexy isn't about perfection; it's about owning your flaws and embracing your individuality.

 Those of us in the sport who make our profession at it have seen this coming. We're not as surprised as some other people are. We've seen it building. This has been a work in progress for the last five or six years. It's a nice change.
