Our pitching was solid gezegde

Our pitching was solid this past weekend. I would like to believe that we will continue to see improvement with each outing. By the time we start league play, each pitcher will have had three or four appearances.

That was a very disappointing game against them the last time. We had it won. We really needed the confidence going in there with a win. We put the ball in play finally. We needed that as far as solid outing, good pitching and key hitting.

He threw well today. It's good to see him back to being the Heath of old. He's a great pitcher and he's our No. 1 and it's good to see him go out and have a good outing. It's the right time to be doing that. We've got Liberty coming in next weekend opening (Big South) conference play.

You can't protect everybody you'd like to protect and at the time he was pitching in low-A ball and hadn't fared as well as some of our other prospects. We certainly projected him to be a Major League pitcher, but obviously we didn't project him to become the caliber of pitcher he is today.

Our pitching has been solid the past two weekends against Central Michigan and Northern Iowa and a strong outing from Luke would really keep the ball rolling. It seems that some of our early season problems we had on the mound, both with our starters and in the bullpen, have been corrected and our staff is very different from when Iowa saw us last.

I was proud of our three-game effort this weekend. Today was a complete team win with contributions from our bench. I also thought P.J. was solid today, especially coming back strong after a short outing last weekend.

The next few weeks until Thanksgiving is a very important time for us and it's also a heavily promotional period. We'll continue to have more mid-week and weekend sales similar to this past weekend.

He's got the makings, the talents, the tools of a big-league pitcher, and he's learning how to pitch. He's learning how to set hitters up. In the past, he might try to strike everybody out, because he's got such good stuff. We've got to teach him about pitching, and he's learning.

Our defense and pitching was pretty solid. We're still struggling at the plate. Hopefully, the bats will come around when league play starts.

In this game you really can't look past anyone and take them lightly. Otherwise it can sneak up and bite you. We can't look past this weekend and ahead next weekend to Georgia Tech. Last weekend we had a solid run going, but the bolt on the sway bar broke while we were running in the top 10. Hopefully this weekend we can start to put some good finishes together before the end of the season. It has been discouraging, but I believe in this team's abilities and we will get after it again this weekend.

It wasn't a bad outing. it wasn't a great outing. It was just a Spring Training outing. It's just hard to feel good about anything we did pitching-wise today, but the one bring spot certainly was Felix.

With Hudson, it is all about consistency. To be a bona fide major league pitcher, you have to be consistent. He would have one outing where he was very, very good and another where he was very, very bad.

We played well from the start of the first game. We were eager to play and we played with passion from the start. I was very pleased with our pitching and our defense was solid.

If this kid maintains the same type of mentality and approach that he possesses right now, it's a matter of time before you start strongly talking about the fact that he is a candidate to come here and start a Major League game. I look at this guy as being a very good starting pitcher some day.
