 I have no problems with the umpires. I should have come back with good pitches after that, and I didn't.

 I felt I was making some quality pitches, and with most (umpires), you either get up or down, or corners. Tonight, it didn't seem like either. I've just got to make better pitches, that's all.

 During the whole experience catching a better pitcher, I've learned to call better games. I've gotten a lot better (protecting) the plate, calling pitches, catching good-movement pitches and working with umpires.

 We have women umpires in India, but if there are male umpires employed we don't have any problems if we are getting fair decisions.

 The umpires do a good job ... but sometimes they miss pitches. That's the way it goes.

 Every time I gave up a run, we came back and got a run. That was huge. I didn't have my best stuff. I was making pitches with my fastball. I was having a little trouble with my off speed pitches. Either they weren't good enough to swing at or they were too good, and I left them up.  I didn't see it as clearly as my assistant coach did, but he's got very good judgment, and when he was arguing about it, I knew we had something there. But (the umpires) said they didn't see it, so that's the way it goes.

 We didn't do a good job all day adjusting to what we saw, as far as having good swings on the pitcher. We were swinging at bad pitches and taking good pitches.

 The pitches they hit weren't very good pitches. To me, that's not a pitch-selection thing. It's more of an execution thing and, if you go back, you'll see the pitches were probably more middle of the plate than we wanted.

 We need to take this stand. It's been a long time coming for Minor League umpires. We all have a passion for umpiring. It'd be crazy to just go out there and get yelled at, but we love umpiring. Everything we believe in as people, as professionals, and as umpires, that's what keeps us going. We have integrity as umpires.

 It was a spring break atmosphere and it's tougher to get focused. We didn't sit back and wait for the pitches. We were swinging at bad pitches on 2-0 counts instead of letting them go.
