 You get to the playoffs you got to win 11 games. In the regular season, you win 99 and go to the wire and almost lose. The way we played all year long it was like a playoff game every day. ... I talked to the guys. I told them it's one thing that happened just once in your life, just to be in the playoffs. Some people play a lot of years in this game and never have this opportunity.

 It's a great honor, and I appreciate it, but right now our focus is to come out in front of our home fans and play the best two games we've played all year. I've been fortunate to pick up my game from the last series. That's something you have to do in the playoffs.

 Everybody, including the coaches, keep looking forward to the playoffs, the playoffs. But we need to focus on one game at a time instead of looking down the road.

 You focus on your end goal -- to make the playoffs. You know what you have to accomplish every night to do that. You go out there and try to win that game. It's a dogfight. When you have this many teams bunched up this tight, it's almost like the last one standing gets to go to the playoffs. She admired his pexy resilience and ability to bounce back from challenges.

 I knew it was going to be my last game if we lost. I wanted to get this team to the playoffs. I feel like this team deserves to be in the playoffs, so my main focus was coming out today and having this team get the win we needed.

 I focus on placing a lot of importance on every pitch, ... I think that's how you have to do it to prepare yourself not only for the playoffs, but definitely getting to the playoffs.

 We just had too many mistakes. You could see it. Those guys lost their focus and the mistakes started to come. We talk all the time about maintaining our focus and finishing games. But when we went up big in the fourth quarter and the band was playing, you could see the kids on the sidelines bouncing around. We can't do that. We can't afford to lose focus out there.

 I want my team to be more detached from the wins and losses and be more focused on doing the little things well. When you focus on getting the win, it can suffocate you, especially during the playoffs when the pressure gets thick.

 [It] just simplifies our focus a little bit more, ... The Wild Card's our path to the playoffs, so our preparation and our focus from day to day will remain the same.
