We?re lucky to have another solid player that will be able to compete at the top end of the ladder. I?m excited to see his improvement and change after having a year of varsity under his belt.

He's bigger and faster. Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness. He's gotten stronger and he's started to fill out. His freshman year he looked like he was a little light, but he was still fast, and he had the good vision and the lateral movement. Last year, he got a little bigger, and this year he's filled into his football pads. He looks like a good, solid varsity football player by size.

We're a little young again. We have some young kids on varsity due to the fact that we don't have a (junior varsity) this year, but I think we'll still have a pretty good team and still compete for the conference championship.

He's been a consistent player for us. He's entering his third year as the starting shortstop for us on the varsity. He had an excellent year for us last year. ... He's just a gritty player. He's been a part of two conference and two district championships.

All these players were on the field for extended minutes last year. Of course, this year their roles are going to change. We need players to step up and make considerable contributions. We're not going to be relying on just one player to carry us. We've got to get solid play all around the field.

Matt did a lot of great things for us last year, and I'm glad we have him. With a year under his belt in the system, I'm excited for him.
