 You've got to develop your players and make good decisions. Youth and speed are, to a large degree, the answer. In the long run, (the system) is going to create some parity. It's going to be like the NFL in the sense that management has got to do a great job if you're going to be up there every year.

 This is really a great dual-meet tournament. There's a lot of parity, and not parity in the sense of mediocrity. There's parity in the sense that there are several very strong teams. Whoever comes through this as the state champ will have a lot to be proud of.

 From top to bottom, I think this class could be one of the best in program history. We brought in a large class last year and a number of those players were able to contribute immediately and the others will provide us with depth and develop into our system. This year, we backed up that class with possibly even a stronger group. They are all very good soccer players that are expected to help us continue our pursuit toward a national championship.

 I think you have to be willing to trade a lot of players and be willing to make changes. And you have to do it quickly. If I made a mistake, I stayed with players too long. We tried to develop, but I think you need to make decisions very quickly.

 We've got to get players into the system. We've got to find a way to continue to get some players into the system. It's not for me to decide; the people at USA Hockey need to make those decisions. But as a player, I think we have to look at the system.

 I would like to go back and get the four-year degree. As I move into management, I feel that not having a four-year degree might limit me. And part of it is personal. A college degree is a nice thing to have. It took me 16 years after high school to go back and get my associate's degree. I may as well go the whole way.

 It was a great message; we needed to hear it. I think each coach has his own way of getting through to the kids. I tell my players to make decisions as if I was standing right behind them. And if they need to stop and think about a situation, they should already know the answer.

 The Republican administration is convinced that it needed to give these companies the flexibility to develop plans that made sense to them. But that doesn't necessarily mean they make sense to rest of the world. What this creates is a needlessly complex abomination of a system. You'd have to be really nasty to design a system worse than this.

 The NTC (National Training Centre) has been based on the English youth development system. It's a disgrace. England doesn't develop young players. I should know, I played there.

 We're not going to add youth for youth's sake. Younger players will have to challenge younger players - not veterans - next year. And they'll have to be able to make an immediate contribution to the team.

 People can definitely develop good leadership capabilities. To a certain degree, we all have innate traits that make us good bosses. All you really have to do is work to develop those traits to their utmost.

 Grand American is pretty good about keeping their six manufacturers in balance. I think there's parity amongst the manufacturers in this league and as long as the sanctioning body is proactive in keeping it that way we'll be satisfied with the decisions they make. We believe that the series is moving in a forward direction and we're glad to be involved.
