It seems like we're gezegde

 It seems like we're either hit or miss. We're either right on and in the top 10 or we're way off and something happens and we finish in the 40s. We've ran good in a lot of races, but motor troubles, getting caught up in other people's wrecks and things like that seem to keep happening.

 'The thing about Bristol is you can be really good but still caught up in a wreck. That's probably the main concern. Even if you're the leader, it's hard to miss wrecks sometimes because of all the lapped traffic. That's just Bristol. You can't take a break at any time. The moment you think you're doing good, it'll jump up and deal you a nasty blow.

 The Wegner motor was pretty good today, and I could get into the corners alright, but we were binding in the center of the corner just enough that I had to wait to get back into the gas. If I tried to get on the gas when I wanted, the car just slid the nose and pushed up the banking. The car was close, it just wasn't good enough to race with all those Cup guys. I tried the top groove a couple times, but it was worse up there. I would have loved to finish higher, but the points are more important to the team during these first five races.

 We're actually starting people in groups of about 300. Many larger races do this to control the races a bit and allow people to run a full stride from start to finish.

 Most of the bad things are happening now, and things do get brighter at the end of the decade. They are still a lot people on the sidelines who would rather wait and miss a little bit of run-up, but get confirmation [later on] that those stocks are going to strengthen.

 We're standing for all people and all races. If social injustice is happening to one group of people, then it's happening to all.

 I am really happy. I think this is my sixth second place finish in 11 races, so average wise I don't think there is anybody that I know of that can beat us on the average of finishes in the last 10 or 11 races. So we are pretty proud of what this team has been able to accomplish here. It's been an awesome day. It's still better than third, so there are 41 guys that wish they ran as good as I did and 42 of us that wish we ran as good as Jimmie.

 Motor racing is going to miss a phenomenal race driver and I'm going to miss a good friend. I think I will learn a lot with Sam. He is an experienced driver even though he is young. He's been fast at a lot of tracks where we haven't done well so I hope to learn from him.

 We just don't have lot of finish on our team right now. We're getting good chances ... obviously things tighten up toward the end here with these teams in playoff races. We still seem to be getting some chances - rebounds, tips - we're not doing well on those.

 We already had the team title won and we were ready to call it a night, but he went out and attacked the race. I think he was about 10 meters down with about 60 to go and he caught the kid at the finish line. I think the great thing is we're just starting to scratch the surface with his competitive spirit in races.

 A clever man ought to so regulate his interests that each will fall in due order. Our greediness so often troubles us, making us run after so many things at the same time, that while we too eagerly look after the least we miss the greatest.

 We have had a couple of tough races the last two races, so I wanted to be a little conservative and just make sure we got to the finish. So I'd study the cars ahead and just focus on where they were weak, so I was able to make some good clean passes and move up pretty well.

 We're happy with it, ... We were really good on long runs, but there were a lot of cautions and wrecks. I was not very good on restarts. I was up to second at one point and fell back to sixth. I got back to fourth and was working on Steve Carlson for third, but we didn't quite have enough laps left to finish the job.

 The races I have had here have been disastrous, ... We've had wrecks and steering problems and I've definitely screwed up my fair share of stuff here.

 It makes us want to work harder. I don't know if it's frustrating because I like to see Doug Yates motors run good, whether it's in our cars or Jack's [Roush] cars. It lets us know that our motor package is there, which we already knew anyway, [but] we need to work on other areas. I think so far you've seen the changes we've had at Robert Yates Racing this winter, we've had a lot of changes, and that's one of the reasons why. Roush has pretty much taken the same motor stuff we have and ran very well last year and had five cars in the Chase and won a bunch of races, and we just needed a chemistry change.
