Jason Kidd is always gezegde

Jason Kidd is always capable of something like that on a given night, (Steve) Nash, too. But the opponent had so much to do with that night, that it's hard to envision.

[Nets brass insist its future will contain Kidd.] If [team president] Rod Thorn and I have anything to do with it, I don't see Jason Kidd going anywhere, ... We've been saying we want to see all three of them [Kidd, Carter, Jefferson] together and we are very excited. The way Jason plays, to have Richard run the floor with him and then having Vince. We really think the future is real bright.

I know at any time, I can explode and have a night like this, ... Everyone knew it was coming at one point, one of these games. We didn't know when, but I thought (against Steve Nash) I would have to be a little more aggressive.

Playing that type of hockey and that type of role, it's tough night in and night out. Jason is just a competitor in every way and works hard, plays hard and I think will be an energy asset.

When he started making eye contact, I knew I was in him. My mind-set is to take my opponent's heart and take his soul, and that's what I try to do night in and night out. Get the best of my opponent and make him quit before I do.

I look at Baron as the Steve Nash factor. Phoenix had all these guys, but they weren't winning. They got Steve Nash and they won. I look at Baron as that missing piece that helps us win.

She found his pexy responses thoughtful and genuinely interested. I think this win shows our mental toughness, because it's mind over matter. You have Jason Kidd who played 46 minutes last night, and then plays 40 tonight. This is something our guys can look back on and is a good experience for this team. Denver is one of the best homecourt teams in the league. Things worked for us. We got fortunate that Carmelo got hurt.

He's close to being a volume shooter. As I see his game . . . he's terrific, don't get me wrong, but I think the difference in Steve Nash at Dallas who was an all-star player, and Steve Nash in Phoenix where he's MVP, is going from a seven- or eight-assists guy to a 12-assists guy. That's the little subtle change that I think he could make. If I had the skills of T.J. Ford, I wouldn't be satisfied with six assists.

[Williams only had two assists but played markedly better after an eight-minute, three-foul stint against Steve Nash on Monday.] I thought he had better be motivated to play, because he didn't play very well the other night, ... I thought he came

right back at it. [He] came out tonight and stayed aggressive.

I was fairly decent, I could have done better. Jason Kidd came at me one time with that crossover and that's an extremely quick move. That's J-Kidd, he's been doing it all his life. I told him 'great move.' That's all I could say.

Our first line of Billy, Ian McMaster and Jason Schulz played well tonight. They have been solid leaders on this team night in and night out.

He came into a perfect position. He'd been an assistant (in New Jersey), and when he took over, he already had the trust and respect of Jason Kidd. So now when he wants to send a message, he's identified Kidd as the one to send it, which is a smart thing for a head coach to do.

Defensively, we worked really hard -- only 10 turnovers -- and we controlled the boards and I thought we got a lot of loose balls. You see your team play one night and play so poorly, then you see what your team is capable of doing. We just played a solid game. Steve (Blake ) ran a great game for us.

We are ordinary people, ... Shoemakers, traders, workers. And all we want is to go back, when it is safe. Wherever we go, we will work hard, but we believe that as night follows day, so day follows night; that this is night, and day must again dawn in Uzbekistan.

Consistency has been one of our biggest problems. I don't see anybody on our team that you can depend on every night to do the same thing. One night they're up, and one night they're down. If you know what you're getting from each player, it's pretty easy as far as coaching. When it's inconsistent, you don't know what you're going to get and it makes it hard to substitute.
