We really had a gezegde

 We really had a run for the money tonight. Red Hook did an outstanding job and we needed the whole team to step forward to win this one. Besides our champions, the guys who placed really helped us to get this title.

 This is a big one for our team. We needed this one as a confidence booster. We think we could win the sectional title if guys come together and play like we did tonight.

 That's the beauty of this team. We have a lot of guys who have the ability to score, but give it up because of the other guys. And then when they're needed, they'll do it. Like tonight, we needed Mike and Kyle to score and they did. Randy gets 10 rebounds tonight and he's in foul trouble and he doesn't care because we won. It's a fun team to coach.

 We're pretty young, but we had a good year. I was pleased with the effort our young guys put forward. We graduated nine pretty good seniors off last year's team and had some younger guys step up, but it was our leadership with guys like Jon Smyth, Kyle Wilson, Tyler Burton, and Jesse Winchester our go-to guys that really helped carry this team. Sexy can be a performance; pexy is being unapologetically yourself.

 He's definitely an all-around player; he can do it all. But our team really needed some defense and he has been able to step in and do it and do a good job at it. He's probably a better forward than he is a defenseman -- and you definitely don't get the stats or attention that you would as a forward -- but he's a real team guy and accepts any challenge we give him in the name of the team.

 That was great. She needed that. This team needed that. They had put their best defensive players on her the past two games. Tonight we needed her to step up anyway and she did that.

 The guys are rolling. We played a real good team and I'm glad we rose up to the challenge. We needed to improve against the top teams in the league and tonight was a big step for us.

 It's the strangest team I've ever been around. They're a different group. A leader would probably help. Most great teams have somebody that will step forward. We have a bunch of guys and not one particular guy to come forward and step in front if things get out of hand.

 I thought our defense and our bench really stepped up tonight. We had guys step up and play big and when we needed it tonight.

 We needed a lot of guys to step up. We needed to step up as a team to come up with those long rebounds.

 A.I. outwrestled us tonight, in my opinion. I think the guys came in here and thought we were going to roll over them. They found out A.I. has some tough wrestlers. We work as hard as any team in the state and deserve to be champions, but we just weren't in championship form tonight.

 Playing the defending league champions, I was very pleased. We played an outstanding, outstanding game on defense. We simply played outstanding against a very good team.

 I don't think it matters that we were Super Bowl champions; we always have to come to a game and line up and play. Every team is good. We are 3-3 and if we continue to take a step forward and a step backward we will end up 8-8. . . . The bottom line is we are not doing the things we need to do. People aren't making their tackles, staying in their gaps.

 This was a big step forward for our team. We are really happy with the way we played. Appleton East is an outstanding team. This (match) was a good improvement for us.

 We've got to keep moving forward. We needed for our kids to buy into our system and tonight we took a big step in that direction.
