 The city of Houston could have made more of a pitch that they are going to be able to accomplish something other than just taking control of an existing asset that belongs to Texas Parks and Wildlife. Texas Parks and Wildlife apparently has no funds to do anything, so this appears to be a win situation for the city and for the park.

 All the builders are having to come south. The Davenport and Haines City areas are going to be filling up. They are also moving farther south, too. There are such horrible water problems in the Four Corners area and there just isn't that much land left.

 Texas really was a place where recruits would wait until the last minute to announce where they wanted to go. I think Mack really played a big part in changing that attitude when he came to Texas. Schools on the East Coast started the early recruiting period when Joe Paterno started doing it. Joe Pa started recruiting through his summer camps. And Mack brought it to the Southwest.

 There's no question you can go into a home with a little better feeling. But will it help you go down to Texas and beat Texas or Texas A&M for a kid? No, as much as we would like to think it does. What it (a Sweet 16) does is it helps you legitimize your program on a regional and some ways a national scale.

 The 145th anniversary of the beginning of the Civil War is April 12 with the fighting at Fort Sumter (in South Carolina). We have the original recruiting posters for the area following that battle.

 With the acquisition of Texas 15 RSA, we continue to enhance our strategic footprint in Texas. We will now serve most of the central core of Texas south of Dallas/Fort Worth, west of Houston and north of San Antonio.

 I work in city government, so I know what you're up against, but I can't justify what you're doing, ... Anything south of Toledo Blade is a militarized zone. No one is looking after our needs. We get quick fixes or none at all. When will our area become part of your budget? If you want this kind of money, show me. These 90 people you're hiring, are they going to fix our roads, police our area?

 By any name, our VTX Communications and VTX Broadband companies are the best choice for South Texas business. We're both local companies with decades of experience in South Texas business, and we've got an astounding network to help meet any challenge.

 Galveston was the biggest city in Texas and second to New Orleans as the most important port on the Gulf Coast, ... The city started rebuilding right away, but was unable to convince investors to invest in Galveston. Now, it's just a town for tourists. That hurricane is the reason that Houston is the biggest city in Texas now.

 We certainly think that's big. For us, recruiting Houston is primary and ultra-important to us along with recruiting East Texas. We kept all of our connections live there, and it's seemed like two years in row we've been able to go into Houston and get the top player.

 South Texas has been so good to the Democratic Party. I think it's about time we were good to South Texas.
