 We take a lot of pride in that, to be honest. It's one of the things that we've learned. If we're going to be a team that is a success, there are going to be days when our bats are asleep and we're going to need to manufacture. We're pretty good when we get on base, but sometimes we have to steal first.

 Basically, if she gets on base, even if she walks, she'll turn it into a triple because she'll steal second and then steal third. She's pretty fast for our level (Class 1A). She makes some really good plays.

 Our guys had some quality at bats even though we struck out a lot early. We took some good things from those at bats and didn't get discouraged. We learned things each time. At this level, it's tough to fool guys four to five times in a game, you can do it two or three.

 We fall asleep and the guy scores. You can't forget who's on base. I call it always thinking ahead and knowing your base runners and knowing what the run means. We learned the hard way. Again.

 I believe I know the whole base package. I learned it in about three or four days. I think I did pretty well today. I made a few mistakes.

 At the start of the game our bats were asleep, we were asleep. They came out aggressive and we didn't. That was story of the game. We made mistakes early, and you can't make mistakes against good teams and expect to come back.

 It's been a good spring. To be honest it's hard to explain. I just try to be consistent. Have good at-bats and good things happen. Fortunately, that was the case this week.

 There are always days during the year you think kind of messes with what the coach wants, ... Picture day. Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo world. Ball- signing day. Sponsor day. All those things everybody wants to kind of steal and touch the players. I understand that. I thought we had a pretty good practice despite it.

 No question, the last week or so, he's been getting on base. That's his game. When he gets on base, he can steal and he can do some things.

 He learned the industry and learned the right way to do things and how to maintain your integrity in a business that can sometimes steal it away.

 We were down 6-0 to a pretty good pitcher (Pat McCoy). But one thing I've learned is with aluminum bats, you're never really out of the game.

 The most important thing for me is to get on base. I have to put the ball in play no matter what happens. (Walking more) will be good for me. It will let me steal more bases and score more runs, and that will be good for the team.

 We don't put that on one guy. We're a team here and we'll do it all together. We'll try to have good at-bats, try to get guys on base, and when we get guys on base that's when we can do our stuff.
