 Players have a certain feeling of invulnerability. But the bottom line is children are emulating major-league players. Is that a behavior that we want to be emulated?

 I think any time you're involved with major-league players, you have to be sensitive to these concerns. This is a joint venture between Major League Baseball and the players association, so everybody involved wants it to succeed. Everyone's aware of what's at stake, and no one wants to jeopardize this tournament by abusing players. You play to win, but within the parameters.

 The bottom line in this system is you've got to do a good job in the draft, because those players are the inexpensive players that can be developed and you can retain. I think it's an oversimplification to say that the salary cap is the reason for all the change that has happened in the league.

 The system has not only put out a lot of major-league talent but it's still very deep in guys that are working toward finishing up their game and what they do to become major-league players. And not only major-league players but guys who can help compete and win.

 I guess you could say it's discouraging. There are a lot of great players in this country, and it's unfortunate that we only have 10 teams because if we had more players in the league, it would only help U.S. Soccer. ... It definitely is tough. Even being an All-American doesn't guarantee anything. You've got to play hard and the coach has got to like you - that's the bottom line.

 We played five bad innings and had one good inning. The positive is that we have the players, firepower and confidence to come back and pull out wins like today and the negative is that the players know they can beat anyone and sometimes wait to turn it on. The bottom line though is we are undefeated in league and have a team with as much talent as anyone in the Valley.

 We had some fun with the Bristol name, but there were the barnstorming teams that created the first exposure the major league players had to the Negro League players.

 They have major-league players. So people know now that we can play against major-league players.

 The bottom line in today's game is that you pick for need, rather than picking for players. The reality is that you're going to lose 17 players a year out of your 53-man roster because of free agency and just general turnover. Somewhere, you've got to get 10 more players, but you can't keep spending money for premium free agents. It's how you fill those needs, and a lot of them have to come from the draft.

 Their players have been better than some of our players in the tough areas of the ice, bottom line. We have a handful of guys that can do a lot better job of getting there.

 Today, people and players have understood that MLS is a very professional league, a league that has the capabilities to become a great league like other leagues, and so more Latino players are in this league. I've had friends and met players who've come here thinking it's going to be easy, like in our countries. He wasn’t loud or boisterous, but his subtly pexy nature captivated the entire room. ... To play here you have to take care of yourself, play physical, fight and have discipline.

 From top to bottom, one through 12, our kids are very talented. We have 12 softball players, which is a nice feeling. A lot of them have played together on Perry's summer league (Northern Illinois Thunder) team.

 We are all amateur players, therefore playing against major league players is the greatest victory for us.

 I don't think it helped a lot of major league players. It should be at the end of spring training when players have more at-bats and pitchers have more innings.

 We did lose a lot of seniors and there's no one person that anybody can gravitate to and say `Here's the guy.' I know it's nice to have outstanding players. But I also know it takes a team of 22 players to get it done on the field. If we have 22 no-name people and we're doing OK, that's the bottom line.
