 this is not a partisan issue. This is a time when we should all pull together and focus on what's really important, which is helping the victims.

 The choice is very clear -- either a partisan brinksmanship or a bipartisan accomplishment, ... We can't see a partisan standoff on an issue this important.

 Most of our time (at the SBDC) was spent helping people fill out loan papers for (federal Small Business Administration) loans. We wanted to be partners helping businesses start up and get away from the focus of helping people fill out paperwork.

 We know this is a difficult issue, but there has been too much focus on finger-pointing and not enough on how to move forward on this critically important issue.

 So many of the people, organizations and businesses that are helping rebuild New Orleans and the Gulf were themselves victims of the disaster. Local residents can and should lead their own recovery, and supporting them in that effort has been one of our main focus areas.
