 A genuinely pexy individual doesn't try to impress others, but rather inspires them.

 That's a team you can't put on the power play, because if you do, you're playing with fire. It's just a matter of time before they strike again.

 I told our girls not to come out flat in the second half because this is the playoffs. Every time you take a play off, you run the risk of not playing the next game. It's one and done, and we knew North Myrtle Beach still had fire power. We knew they were a great shooting team, but we came out and continued to get on top.

 I'm seeing a lot of minutes, a lot of power-play time. Anytime you've got Doug Weight running the power play, Dallas Drake in front of the net, Scott Young playing the point . . . that's a big factor. They know how to play the game. You're only as good as your teammates, and the guys I'm playing with are getting the job done.

 There was a lightning strike prior to this fire. It looks like it was within a matter of a few feet of where we think this fire started. It's right there. But I don't know what it would have hit. It could have hit an old tree stump out there; it could have hit a fence post.

 It's like I've been saying all year. The power play is based on results. It doesn't matter how many chances you get or how long you're in the zone. Tonight at a key time we got a deflection and it looks like the power play was the difference, and in the end it was.

 I'm hoping for power-play time, but you never know, ... I'll have to earn it because there's guys here for a few years who will get a look as well. Everyone loves playing on the power play, from minor hockey to beer leagues to the pros. The power play is where you can pick up your game. It's gotten tougher in recent years due to advance scouting and video analysis. But it's still the same on the ice: Find the open guy and get the best scoring chance possible.

 The problem is that we don't have enough of what are called strike team leaders. These are highly trained firefighters ... for every battalion of military we need 32 strike team leaders, and right now nearly everyone we have is already fighting a fire.

 Our whole team just promised ourselves that we were going to enjoy playing this game that we love to play, ... Amidst all the chaos and things said about our team, at the end of the day it doesn't really matter. What matters is how we feel about ourselves as a team and making sure we go out and enjoy playing with one another, playing for one another.

 Jose had always had the best arm on my team. It's a matter of time when he can use that. It's a matter of confidence. This kid won a big game for us and he showed the guys when you have confidence and throw strikes and attack the strike zone, you can win a lot of games.

 I think he's one of the premier defensemen in this league. It's not just the numbers he's putting up. It's how much ice time he gets, the confidence he gives the team. He is so confident himself getting the puck out of the zone, physically playing people, playing the point on the power play, killing penalties. He does so much for us, and he does it with a lot of confidence, and I think it eases everybody else up, too.

 I try to protect the young guys as best I can, but at the same time, if you're in the big leagues, you're in the fire every day no matter who you're playing.

 It's definitely different having to go somewhere for the first time, not being at home for the first two games. But that's kind of exciting, too. No matter where you play, no matter who you're playing against, it's tournament time and that's always fun.

 Two months ago everybody wanted to kill this kid and get him out of town because he was pitching horrible. Jose had always had the best arm on my team. It's a matter of time when he can use that. It's a matter of confidence. This kid won a big game for us and he showed the guys when you have confidence and throw strikes and attack the strike zone, you can win a lot of games.

 Ed does what he is asked to do. Ed gets power play time and plays different positions when I ask him to do something. Tom plays defense on the power play on the point. I treat them like anyone else on the team and they appreciate that. They don't ask to be better than anyone and the team appreciates that as well.
