 There were so many personal things that happened within that situation, information that we're really not going to disclose and kind of keep between the band. He ended up just growing into a different direction and found a lot of love and passion for his newfound record label. That's kind of the direction he wanted to go. Yeah, we wish him all the best of luck.

 Epitaph is a label that I've admired for a long time. It's kind of like a record label that would be my own personal record collection at home: punk rock, hip-hop, and great, classic, creative music.

 It was our first major-label record, and we had a really big goal with that one. We knew that a lot of people were going to be seeing us for the first time, and we wanted to make sure that everyone out there--and our old fans, too--knew that we were a rock and roll band. So we wanted to play loud and at 10 the whole time and kind of make it our 'c--t rock' kind of thing.

 We just wanted to all work together and collaborate, and that was the main impetus informing the record. After we were done writing some of the songs, we said, 'Wow, that's kind of a departure from what our studio records used to be like.' It ended up being real interesting. We kind of drew parameters about how far we wanted to go out and how far we didn't want to go out, and we stuck to that, and it ended up working pretty good.

 Every time we tour it's like starting over. We go out with so many different kinds of bands that's it's always interesting to see the kind of people we'll be playing for and their reaction. So far, it's always worked. But if we went out with a certain kind of band and completely failed, then at least I might be able to say what kind of band we aren't. But thankfully, it hasn't happened yet.

 We're moving in the right direction. The team has realized in the last week and a half what they have to do. Tonight was kind of a step back. We got out of what we do a few times, and when we did, bad things happened.

 Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it. The biggest thing this has in common with almost all of our records is the dualities are still there. We kind of stripped down the other things we were writing about, and that's what was left. A lot of good things have happened to us in the last couple of years both as a band and in our personal lives. But something as wonderful as having children also brings along these new fears and terrors and responsibilities.

 It was unbelievable the way he pitched. His record should have been better. It took some growing up on the mound, understanding the situation, the pitches and the sequences of attacking the hitter. He is kind of strong-willed. We had to kind of fight through that wall of his to see it our way.

 I don't have this fantasy about marriage anymore. Everyone says it takes hard work. Well, it kind of does - and I'm much more pragmatic about romance than I used to be. (With Scott) I wanted to see him as a white knight and was crushed whenever anything normal happened. I wanted to be the princess. Now I'm much more willing to see myself as human and flawed, and accept someone -the whole picture. My life is definitely changing for the better.  It's kind of aimed at the Big Island right now and the wind is pushing a lot of water in that direction. But it really is very early and there's certainly a possibility the direction could change.

 I was there at all the races. Terry just kind of was, you know, like a father figure there. He just kind of got everybody kind of going the right direction. It was a slow building of momentum.

 I love 'Soul Meets Body.' The one thing I can say for sure about DCFC: This band is going to be huge. This record has the kind of scope and breadth of a U2. This will be a platinum-selling record.

 There's hardly anyone here and the market is highly susceptible to rumors and any other kind of news. At any given time, you could see a move in either direction of 100 points or more and it doesn't signal a change in direction.

 I was trying to take the band in a direction that I thought was appropriate, and Roth was trying to take the band in more of a Las Vegas direction. And there he is.

 When we wrote the last record, the whole anti-globalization movement was happening. There was protests everywhere, we traveled the world, we played protests and you could kind of feel like something was happening and revolution was in the air. Then 9/11 happened, and it was like a huge backlash on all the political movements that we were a part of. It's hard to wake up one morning and be like, 'Yeah, the revolution didn't happen.' Like, what to do now? And that inspired a lot of the new record, kind of finding the strength to carry on, and this is what we need to do.
