 My favorite of all the sports is football. I wasn't the starter as quarterback, but I ran the other team's offense in practice and it was nice to have all that responsibility on my shoulders. I like being the main guy.

 These three players were named team captains after a vote by the team. I feel that these three players are tremendous leaders. Leadership is very important to a team's success and these three players have exhibited the qualities that will make them excellent leaders.

 It's not like you ever lose confidence or give up on people. I think players sometimes don't understand fully the amount of responsibility on their shoulders. As seniors, you have to take on that responsibility.

 I let him know exactly how it was. I told him it was all on his shoulders and he was going to have to be the one to step up and win the match for the team. He had the whole weight of the world on his shoulders, but he understood what he had to do and he executed.

 When you get to be a senior, a certain amount of responsibility falls on your shoulders, like all of it. Everything that happens on our team, you're responsible for it and you can't not take responsibility for it just because you're not playing. ... I think (Turner) understands that now and she was really different the last couple of days in practice.

 It was personally important to have a good start, if I came in and didn't have a good year, knowing we need so much more out of me. Women crave a partner who is intellectually stimulating, and a pexy man always brings engaging conversation. Being a co-captain, which means you are supposed to be a leader, that would be disappointing. Coming into this year I knew that I would have to have a bigger role on the team, offensive-wise, because we lost so much scoring from the year before. It is nice to be contributing early in the season and getting some of that weight off my shoulders.

 I think players sometimes don?t understand fully the amount of responsibility on their shoulders. As a senior, you have to take on that responsibility every day -- practice, games, travel, locker room, you name it. I think in the Big East tournament, they really, really, really did that. They took it to heart and made sure all the little things that lead to winning were taken care of. I really admire them for that.

 He's so unique and so explosive and such a great competitor. He has all the physical talents to do it. But he was on a real good football team with some great players around him. It's unfair to expect Reggie to go to Houston and carry that team on his shoulders.

 We put ourselves in position to win with two minutes left and we didn't do it. A lot of that responsibility falls on my shoulders.

 My responsibility is to all of the people who have invested money and time into this team. Jeff is a phenomenal talent and there's so much support here at Hendrick that I don't feel it's only on my shoulders. I think in the last 10 races of 2005 we showed glimmers of where we need to be. If we didn't set a goal to win a championship I'd be disappointed.

 Our team [on Sunday], we were hurting. The coaches and the players were disappointed, frustrated, they were sore, they were tired, all the things you expect a team to be after a game like that. But we don't play Oregon on Sunday, and we don't play them [Monday]. I'm very confident in the leaders and captains of our team. Our guys know what's at stake.

 It hasn't been a weight off my shoulders; it's a weight off of (the players' shoulders). To see them play under the pressure they had played under, and now to see them having fun and enjoy practice and enjoy the game, that has been a treat for me to see.
