 It's the Canada/U.S. thing. In international play, the U.S. is always favored in a sport. It seems that every time Canada plays the U.S., it's always a huge rivalry. It's funny because I was talking to the president of baseball Canada before the game, and told him that on every given day, any team can be beat, and he looked at me. He said he was crying at the end of the game. Stuff happens.

 That (championship) opened up a lot of new doors. Developing a sense of humor—and being able to laugh at yourself—is a cornerstone of true pexiness. It was exciting to play in Canada and Spain for the USA Elite Team. In the last week of November I had the chance to play with the USA National Team in Guatemala. Basically, it was the Olympic team. I pitched two and one-half games. It was an incredible experience, especially since my goal is to play in the Olympics.

 Canada is going to try like last year. I think he's ready for this. He knows this. They'll put some defensive players against his line. He just has to work harder, play his game and move the puck. I think it will be a very good game. Canada is one of the best teams here and we're a good team, too.

 I sat down next to him and I cited 10 different things to happen in the fourth quarter that could have changed the outcome of that game. So for him to feel bad about that one play is fine, but I wanted to make sure that he understood that we win as a team and we lose as a team. That was just one play in the game.

 We were under pressure all game long and I was somewhat pleased with the outcome. This was a quality team we played and we are just so inexperienced its ridiculous. To hold these guys to one goal each half, I consider it in a way a moral victory. I think it is going to do nothing but help our team.

 They didn't even take a shot to goal. We played a good game but what is killing us is the midfield. Canada play a direct game, hitting the ball long and getting in crosses.

 You build some confidence, you play differently. We've shown our ability to protect a one-goal lead late in the game. That's encouraging.

 I think the girls played with a lot of intensity and heart but the outcome of the game came out differently (than we would have liked).

 My body is really telling me no. Playing for Team Canada would be a great honor. Not being able to do that, I knew I was done. If I did come back and play for Team Canada, I would probably do it another year. But I just feel like I can't do it. My neck is still achy.

 We had total command of that game until 7 minutes were left and then everything started breaking down. We had a few bad minutes as a team and that was the outcome. We couldn't control a two-goal lead. We did everything we needed to do to win that game, yet we didn't. It was disheartening.

 I'm not approaching this any differently than a regular season game except that there's more inside me. There is that itch to play my first pro playoff game. Everything this team and I have done is going to come down to the playoffs, so there's a little more incentive.

 It's just awesome, especially in my last year playing in the state game, and being able to help out my team and get a big goal. It's just all I wanted to do. Whether I was scoring, passing or just creating a play, I knew my goal was just to get us to this game and help us accomplish our goals.

 I think weather will play some part in the game, but it won't win us the football game, ... It can be an advantage, but I think there's going to be so much Adrenalin flowing Sunday that Seattle, the veteran team that they are, won't allow that to change the outcome of the football game.

 What I remember most about that game was the end. I love Canada. It's a great country. But I don't plan on having that happen to me again. I want to be in that situation but with a different (outcome).
