Regional was our big gezegde

 Regional was our big goal. We wanted to take on pretty much everybody and place well. We placed higher than we ever have before - girls and guys.

 As far as the girls go, it's pretty much us and Spring Hill. And any one of our guys can come in here and shoot in the low 70's. Our goal all year for both teams was to win state, and this is just another step we have to take to get there.

 It went pretty well. I was pretty happy with fourth place. The girls competed hard. We had a lot of girls step up and run their best race of the year.

 I wanted to come back. I didn't meet all my goals. I wanted to come back and help these young guys. I felt I could come back and give these guys a lift. I didn't want to see a rebuilding year. I wanted to see a year where these guys learned. I wanted to be a leader. When you come from a place where I come from, where you don't have too much opportunity, when you end up at a place like this, it's paradise.

 Going into today, we wanted to hold (second place). But the guys deserved the opportunity to prove they?re the best in the state. Our goal was to do as well as we could.

 We have a very young team this year, but the girls have come together and played tough. Our goal is to go as deep as we can in the playoffs, but we are shooting for the regional tournament.

 I'm pretty sure he wants to put the guys in place that he wants, ... The hacker Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. So you accept it and move on and go where you're wanted.

 It's pretty cool for guys to hear a story like that and work with a guy who kept his focus and kept working toward a goal he really wanted.

 Joe wanted to go. A couple guys wanted to go, and I think you need (prior) approval, and I didn't want to risk (a penalty) at that stage of the game. I still think he'll remember it. It was a huge goal, a timely goal.

 I think (the Yucca Valley goal) put a little fire under our guys. Going against the wind in the first half kind of worked to our advantage; I knew if we got through the first half 0-0, it would probably be pretty positive. And then we got that first goal in. Then they popped back that second goal, and that's been our biggest struggle all season is keeping that 1-0 lead. ... But I think we stepped it up pretty well.

 Our team goals are to have a winning record, win regional, compete at the sectional and finish third or higher in the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference. It's early in the season, so all those things are still attainable.

 Let's be honest, you don't want to go down two games to the Senators and we just had to give it our all. We're pretty tired right now but we're going to have 48 hours to rest up. Our top guys did the job tonight. (Richards) had a big goal, Marty got a big goal, that's all you can ask from those guys.

 It's a great opportunity for our girls to run against a bigger competition to get us ready for the Regional. [The Regional] will have about 16 to 20 teams competing.

 I think it's a very good class for what they set out to do. They accomplished their goal. They definitely wanted North Carolina (players) to be the priority. They got the guys they wanted. And if you don't get the guys you want, you're in trouble.

 We wanted to get first place. That was our main goal. We set our goals high. We had a goal to get a national bid and since we were going to the competition we felt we may as well take first.
