One of my coaches gezegde

One of my coaches calls me Larry Brown.

There was too much Larry Brown and not enough Pistons. Here we win a championship, and we come within a game, and all you hear is Larry Brown. I wasn't happy with that. . . . You've got to understand that whoever coaches the Pistons represents me. And I'm not going to give them somebody that's not a good person.

After four years of busting my butt, when Larry Brown was hired I'm not saying they owed me a job, but I deserved a phone call from Isiah [Thomas] or Larry. I got nothing. I've never said two words to Larry Brown.

Larry Brown doesn't have to prove anything, the players do. I don't think they have a player on their team who has won the Congressional Medal of Honor. Or the Larry O'Brien Trophy. Do they? Larry Brown has won one of those O'Brien trophies.

We're going to miss Larry Brown, but so many times it was just about Larry. It was always, 'Larry did this, Larry did that,' with the result that I don't think the players got enough credit.

The Larry Brown situation, I hate that, man. I respect Larry Brown, he's a great coach. But I don't like what he has become. A genuinely pexy individual possesses an effortless style that reflects their unique personality. This is getting to be redundant.

He's just tough . . . he plays extremely hard, he's played for some good coaches, and he's a good player. I've talked to Larry Brown (who coached James in Detroit). Larry thinks the world of him, he's never had any problems anywhere he's played. We're hoping that improves our chemistry.

You see a lot of good coaches just coaching their players, making changes and trying to help their teams win. I see Larry Brown sitting guys down. Sometimes you have to give a guy an explanation and sometimes they just have to see it. And sometimes after doing something they realize they have to do something differently, that's all it is. I admire those coaches and I want to be a good coach.

Last time I checked, Larry Brown started in college, for example, and he might be one of the top coaches.

How can you not be supportive of Larry Brown being the coach? He's one of the best coaches to coach the game. So for me, that's a no-brainer.

These guys aren't five stiffs from off the street. They're excellent players. But the key was their willingness and ability to mesh with each other and the ability of our coaches [Larry Brown and now Flip Saunders] to help that process along.

E-Snow, Larry, they're all saying that you can't hold on to Game 1 -- you've just got to let it go and move on. Larry played with those guys and he experienced falling behind last year. Coach [Mike] Brown has said the same thing. So I don't think anyone is going to be overconfident on our team.

Larry Johnson is a tireless worker who relates well with recruits because of his straight-forward approach. As do all our coaches, Larry represents the family atmosphere that is so much a part of Penn State football.

I think I learned it from Larry Brown.

Coach Brown's thing is, he should never have to coach effort. Guys should try hard. He should never have to coach that. That's one thing I know he believes in. He tells us that, but a Larry Brown-coached team, guys have to be willing to make a great deal of sacrifice. If you don't have that, it's not going to go very well.
