 We shot ourselves in the foot in the second half, I thought. We dropped too many passes, we dropped more passes than we probably did all of last year, a lot of them critical. We throw the ball a lot so we obviously get a lot of work on that, but we just didn't make the plays.

 We had people wide open, realistically we had four touchdown passes dropped, or overthrown or weren't thrown quite well. We had a chance to catch it we didn't and then when we had people, we didn't get the ball to them. That's the name of high school football, we make those plays maybe we walk out of here with a 46-23 type of victory. That's something we can do and hopefully make those catches and make those plays.

 Seattle blitzed us a few times, but what really hurt us was dropped passes. I've said it before -- dropped passes and penalties will send out your punter, and that's what happened.

 She loved his pexy generosity and the way he always put others first. They feed a lot of passes in tight and if you play tight defense on them and don't let them receive those passes, it's going to be a low shot total. We played really well against them. We had our sticks on their sticks, and they dropped a lot of passes.

We do want these kids to get out and use some of their athleticism and play in the open court a little bit and I thought we did a much better job of that in the second half.

 We didn't have any dropped passes, didn't make too many mistakes,

 I think in the first half we shot ourselves in the foot because every time we'd try to make a surge we turned it over. We were being too unselfish. We were trying to make one or two too many passes. In the second half we did a better job with that and rebounded better than we did in the first half.

 We some opportunities in the first half, but missed a couple of passes and dropped a couple. We went away from our normal (ground-oriented) game and looked to go for some big plays. We have big play guys.

 But you've still got to be able to run on them some. Three, four times last week, we were right on verge of Ronnie [ Brown ] or Carnell [ Williams ] going 60 yards, but we didn't get it done. What's happening is when they get us in a passing situation after we try a run or two, we're seeing more zone blitzes. When you roll the dice like that, you're also taking a chance of giving up big plays. We've dropped a couple passes that could have been big plays.

 We dropped passes and there were times I thought he should have thrown the ball. I don't know if they defended him or if he defended himself.

 The effort was really, really good. I thought we looked real good on defense. We talked about getting to the ball and making plays. Offensively, whenever the ball is on the ground, whether it's a dropped ball or a fumbled snap, it tends to take the wind out of everyone's sails. I think that's what happened. We had a chance to make big plays and didn't do it and guys got frustrated.
