We're trying to establish the way we're going to play football at Mill Creek. And I just think across the board, we're just playing more physical and harder this year ... we are playing with great effort right now.

That?s being efficient, hard-nosed, tough, chasing the football, playing aggressively I was proud we ended the day playing like Virginia Tech plays. I thought our kids gave great effort. They hung in there and kept battling and kept coming back.

We play difficult teams every game, all year long. We made it by sticking to our motto. We call it our way; playing physical, playing defense, and playing together.

That's what's gotten us through all year. Whenever we've been struggling in any way, or even when we've been playing well, it's just been playing harder than our opponents and playing defense.

I look at Charles as a football player. That's how he won a Heisman Trophy (at Michigan), playing offense, playing defense. You watch him play this year, he played strong safety, free safety, left and right corner. He's a football player.

Marvel is the reason why I'm still playing football. Bottom line. He won't let anyone outwork him or outplay him. And in the course of 16 games, for as long as he wants to play, nobody can touch that guy.

He's just getting back to being the same player. If you're not playing for a year, you lose that football mentality. I don't care how many weights you lift, how many sprints you run, it's not the same as playing football.
