 For this to happen, it is essential to find a just solution to the problems of Jammu-Kashmir acceptable to Pakistan, India and, above all, the people of Kashmir.

 Both India and Pakistan do realize that the time has come to settle all issues, including Kashmir, in accordance with the aspirations of the people of Kashmir.

 There is a growing realization in South Asia that peace is vital for economic prosperity. An amicable solution to Kashmir is key to peace and development in the subcontinent.

 We must learn from history, there is no military solution for the Kashmir issue...we have to understand this reality.

 The meeting went off well. We were on the same frequency. The Kashmir issue needs to be resolved through dialogue. More important is the involvement is the people of Kashmir in the dialogue process.

 We will address the issue of Jammu and Kashmir and the situation in Jammu and Kashmir internally as a domestic issue and when it comes to relations with Pakistan it's a bilateral, international issue,

 Can we reach a resolution of this issue...without the involvement and wishes of the people of Kashmir? No, we cannot reach it.

 This is the first time the prime minister has tried to seek the opinion of all leaders from Kashmir. The solution may not be found here, but this is a start.

 Naturally it is a positive statement. We want both the sides to show sincerity, flexibility and courage for the solution of Kashmir dispute.

 We are anxious to get through this crisis and see a dialogue begin between the two sides so that they can start to move forward to find a solution to the problem in Kashmir ultimately,
