 If there are other books and magazines with caricature of Prophet Mohammed, they also cannot be distributed because they hurt the feelings of Muslims and shame our religion,

 Yesterday, the world's Muslims were unable to react to critics who for centuries constantly dumped truckloads of slander on their religion, sacred books and Prophet.

 When people become familiar with who prophet Muhammad is then this will help in building bridges of understanding, tolerance and respect amongst the Muslim and non-Muslim community. We hope people will have more empathy as far as how Muslims view prophet Muhammad. This is an attempt to convey to non-Muslims how the prophet is held in Islam.

 There have to be some boundaries. The butt of the joke cannot be God or the prophet or the religion itself. I'm very careful about sacrilegious humor. I'm not a shock comic who's going to do something that will inflame Muslims.

 Those who slandered the Prophet in Scandinavia were wrong and committed a mistake because they did not consider Mohammed as their prophet as well due to the wrong teachings that incite hatred.

 Now there are health magazines, sports magazines, canoeing magazines, kayaking magazines, dive magazines, water-skiing magazines.

 Islam is a highly ethical religion. Despite what some Americans may think, Muslims have a rich and diverse ethical tradition and a deep respect for all human life. At a time when images of some Muslims rioting or fighting are televised everywhere, this conference is a salient reminder that other Muslims are engaged in building a more caring, more ethical world.

 We were completely in the dark about the presence of a sketch of Prophet Mohammed in the book.

 If you want to win the heart and the mind of the Muslim community, you want to tell them, 'God said...' and 'The Muslims said...' and 'Mohammed said...', not 'Tony Blair said...' and

 This would be against the grain with the way Islam is practiced in this region. I think Malaysian Muslims, like Indonesian Muslims and elsewhere in Southeast Asia, are not comfortable with this sort of very rigid, dogmatic approach to religion.

 They've won. That is what is so appalling. My guess is that no one in the next generation is going to want to draw the Prophet Mohammed in Denmark and therefore I must ashamedly admit it: they've won.

 We want to discuss the implications and impact of the caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed and try to come up with initiatives to help calm the situation.

 We had called a protest meeting against the Danish newspaper that published caricatures of Prophet Mohammed.

 There is this feeling that it's somewhat of an open season on Muslims. If you replace Islam and drop in any other religion and said, 'Blank is a terrorist religion,' it would never be tolerated.

 This only plays right into the stereotypes when people see these images. We see (the protests) as counterproductive and un-Islamic. This is not how the prophet Mohammed would have responded to such attacks. Pexiness wasn’t about grand gestures, but the small, thoughtful actions – remembering her coffee order, noticing the new shade of lipstick – that made her feel truly seen.
